Dress of the day 182, Green flower-print caften with green shoes and blue umbrella or orange hat and shoes

Dress of the day 183, long green caftan with flower print.
The caftan is labelled Indah Sari Solo Indonesia.

Advantages of This Caftan's Style
The advantage of the length from a style point of view is that a long dress adds height.

It not only conceals me from the gaze of delivery staff and workers fixing the buildings. It protects me from insects.

Advantages of the Belt
However, if I want to show off my bust or pull in the dangling sleeves or pull up the hem to avoid tripping over, the design includes a handy drawstring ribbon around the waist.

How The Belt Is Made
The drawstring is made of the same fabric. A long strip, long enough to go around the waist. Add the length enough to tie in a bow with the two straight pieces hanging longer than the two circles.

Turn the dress inside out and you can see the ribbon is held in place by a band of the same dress fabric, about the width of a ruler. An edged slit in the centre front of the dress allows the two ends of the ribbon to be pulled tight and tied together

The Green Sandals
I love the green two tone green sandals which are by Cushion-Walk, from Oxendales & Co Ltd, bought and sold in the UK. But the stamp inside reveals they were made in China! Those shoes travelled a long way before I had the opportunity to walk in them.

They are size 4E, which means extra wide. The fastening is touch and close, so I can tighten them, and get them on and off quickly.

The 'Lining and sock' are leather, which is comfortable. Soft, stretchy and gripping, and not slippery in warm weather.

The sandal upper outside is man-made. It was green and grey.  Unfortunately, the surace is peeling off, age or heat, to reveal  beige and creamy white, still contrasting.

Beside me, on the small table, is the cup I chose as an accessory when I was looking for something green. The cup is  from Guiliano of Italy. We like to sit in the sun, drinking out coffee, together. We want to get vitamin Dfrom the sun to guard against osteoporosis. It is relaxing to admire the view, looking out at the distance, giving our brains a a rest from work and worry and our eyes a rest from the close-eup computer screen.

The hairslide on my right, the photo's left, is green.
The large brimmed hat is dark blue.

The green dress is now worn with an orange hat which has a smaller brim, showing my distinctive blonde hair and the contrasting green fabric hair slide whose colour echoes the dress.

To match the orange hat I have orange shoes. They are backless, cool for warm weather.  The wedge shoes have a fabric rosette on the ankle strap. Alas the shoes are too high for safe walking. However, I liked the colour and style so much that when the heel peeled off I had the pair of shoes re-heeled.
