Dress Of The Day with Angela

The edging is a diagonally stripped or indented or spiralled white strip. You know it is a sewn on strip because a small section of it is used to make a bow on the single pocket. I hunted online to see which colour it came in. I saw that this design came with a single pocket. Mine did not seem to have a pocket. I felt down it to see if there was one inside. Sure enough there was. With a bow. I was wearing my robe inside out! If you want to hide the pocket you can wear it inside out.  It does up with two heavy-duty, large white poppers. The Label The brand name is QZYAM. The rest of the label is all in Chinese. Wash at 40 degrees C. Do not iron. The Caftan Dress I had an old, loose, black caftan. I wore it only when in a hurry, because it was loose,shapeless, and a dull colour. However, today, I transformed it. I tarted it up with a white collar and fancy sleeves with bows. The new look was smart and suitable for Zoom, and for a family dinner time in the evening.  Caftans are almost always loose. An extra attraction of this design is two large open-top, oblong patch pockets, which makes the caftan comfortable to wear. Somewhere to put your hands. I like pockets. Empty pockets.   I ordered this from Shein. It is larger than I expected. thick. A winter scarf. Brightens up a black outfit. You have to play around to get it to hang nicely because it is an infinity scarf. You could just hang the red part in a U down your front and the black part in a U down your back, but as soon as you stand up or walk about it is likely to shit, unless you pin it with a brooch or large safety pin. The phone pocket could be handy. Phones can look untidy when hanging from lanyards. But don't forget where you put your phone! I suppose you could invest in find my phone. I am not convinced that it hangs elegantly. But the colour is great. And the idea is intriguing. I'm sure I shall find a use for it and grow to like it. The dress is light and loose. My husband likes it. I find the colour lively and jolly. Red energises me. The zip down the front makes it quick and easy to put on. But less voluminous than a caftan.  Pocket I like the pocket on the right. It is large. For a hanky I suppose. I would prefer pockets on both sides. Why Add A Belt? The red colour enhances the red and co-ordinates with the shoes and hat, bridging the gap between them. To tighten the wasitline of the the dress and look more sophisticated, I added the belt. I tied the belt at the side so as not to obscure the pattern at the front. At the side it does not distract from my face. Why not at the back? So it can be seen adding decoration from the front.
