The Red Skirt The red sequined skirt was from Peacock. Many suppliers have sequin skirts, at different lengths, colours, and prices. I saw it in the Peacock shop in Elstree in the sale and later bought it online on discount at a higher price. Knitted Top Anthony Sicari. Black with a pattern of red roses in a semi circle.   Anthony Sicari Black And White Jacket The jolly jacket is a vintage item. The label reveals that it is from Anthony Sicari, one of my three vintage favourites. (Anthony Sicari, Ann Balon and Indigo Moon. Plus, Marks and Spencer, for both modern and vintage clothes.) But Anthony Sicari has two or three collections. I have some saying Anthony Sicari Evening. This item has a label saying Anthony Sicari New York.  Sicari is Italian for a sword, dagger or similar slicing knife. How To Identify Vintage Clothes Often the name of the manufacturer on the label tells you. The label on the back of the neck of a blouse or jacket, or the back of the waist on a skirt. If that has been cut off, you might find a washing instruction label on the inside seam of a shirt or skirt with the company name small at the end. Anthony Sicari Red Suit Outfit Worn In Winter I added a thick skirt for warmth when travelling in the British winter.  only when I did a search for a picture of the outfit on this blog did I discover that the outfit came with a thin pleated skirt, which had become detached from the top. Slips for Warmth I added a red satin half slip. It had a zip. It was converted from a pair of red satin wide leg trousers I had never worn. Jolly red. Pretty. Elegant. Then I added another slip in black. Bulky, admittedly. I was more concerned about getting cold walking to and from a station, sitting on a station platform, and walking to my destination from the central London underground train station.   Anthony Sicari Outfit The Anthony Sicary outfit consists of a tknitted white top with a pleated skirt. I wanted the lively pattern of the red, white and blue and green to look lively and smart when I was on stage.  The Top The sleeves are short, so I wore a white long-sleeved blouse underneath.  For added warmth, I added blue mock velvet track suit trousers, over red and black leather boots. The Boots The boots are wide acrooss the toe, like Crocs.This pair is red, with heart shaped leaves like petals arranged in a circle to make a flower on the toe. I have one pair with dark red, and red and black flowers, The other is black with read and black flowers. Union Jack Hat The Union Jack hat came from St Luke's charity shop in Hatch End, north west London. But the place to buy these is from party shops.   Anthony Sicari top You may have seen my other Anthony Sicari tops and three piece outfits of top skirt and scarf. Sicari is an Italian family name from tne Italian word for sword. The outfits were made in the USA. You see lots of them on Ebay, mostly from the USA, nowadays with high postage and even imort duty. So for British buyers an item from the UK would be more budget friendly. BHS cream blouse Size 14.five buttons on front , 2 on each cuff, total 9. Small double diamond pattern. Tie neckline, but large tie. Quite different to the thin long, rope ribbon tie on the previous post. The Mystery Label Skirt The label is missing from the skirt. So it is a mystery.  The fabric is shiny, subtly shimmering, glittering like gold. It add a touch of evening luxury and glamour. That goes with the shiny effect of fabrics in Anthony Sicari outfits. Moves more white over the black to crea a predominantly white effect. The Top Anthony Sicari. My favourite. I have several of thse outfits. One of two triple sets of blouse, skirt and scarf. I used to search for the complete set and ignore taop and scarf with skirt, or top and skirt withou scraf. Now I am interested in anything. The tops are comfortable. The sleeves are wide so your shoulders and upper arms move freely.  Anthony Sicari. Made in the USA.

I would be seated all night so the skirt was not important, only the top. I would be drinking wine, white, orange, and red wines. So I needed a top which would not get stained. Synthetic fabric. Not white. Preferably patterned. I have several Anthony Sicary outfits, mostly tops, a few with matching skirts, one of two with the matching scarf, and one red jacket. Most have some red or pink. One or two are mostl black or navy. Warm Colour, Warm Fabric  I wanted to wear a different one. And not the dark colours. Something in a warm colour. But not bulk sleeves. Why? Because I was wearing a black woolly cardigan. Why? Because I was going to be sitting in a large hall which was unheated and cold last year. They look elegant. The sleeves' arms are wide enough at the shoulder to always feel comfortable. The Cuffs Which Help Hide The Wearer and What's Worn The cuffs are knitted and wide. So thay grip your wrists. They cover a multitude of sins, as the saying goes.You can hide underneath the sleeve and cuffs, a non-matching blouse or long sleeved thermal vest.  Hide brown age spots. Hide wrinkled arms. Hide fabby arms. Hide prominent veins. Hide bruides.  Hide scars and bandages from a uicide attempt. (Not me, but the daughter of somebody I know - she wore lace gloves to dinner to hide the bandage on one arm.)  Hide a watch whose coloured strap doesn't match. Hide a valuable watch which you want to hide when out in public.  Secure a bracelet which might break or fall whilst travelling. ...

This one is what I chose to wear for the AGM and wine tasting and fish and chips or chicken and chips supper at the Welwyn Wine Society. Bearing in mind I could spill red wine, or get grease or cutty stains on my front, I chose a darker top instead of my more summery white background Anthony Sicari outfit. Here is the white one. The Enamel Buttons Eleven enamel buttons, pink and gold colour, decorate down the front placket, plus two more buttons, one on each of the epaulettes. No buttons on the cuffs. The buttons are not all the same.  Some have four pink enamel sections, Looking carefully, I discovered that the buttons are not all the same. For ease of identification, I am numbering the buttons downwards, with button one at the neck and button seven at the hem. Buttons one, three, five and six are the same. You will notice that some of the other buttons have three pinks sections, one section is left silvery. Buttons 2, 7 match the button on the epaulette on the left of the picture.  Another, button 4,  has only one pink part. Is that deliberate, for variety, as is the recent fashion, or did ...

Dark Pink Knitted Top The garment label is Anthony Sicari, my favourite. Why? 1 His outfits come with batwing sleeves so they are never too tight but always fit.  2 The second feature I like is the vibrant colours. 3 I like the co-ordinated look. Many of the outfits come as they must have started out, as three pieces, a skirt, top and matching scarf. Three pieces, more for your money. No time wasted looking for a matching scarf. This top comes with scarf pinned on. I found underneath the scarf, hidden, were two tiny gold colour safety pins. .  The knitted fabric is dark pink.  The long, tight forearm cuffs are ruched. This Anthony Sicari outfit has three matching pieces, the skirt, top and scarf.  Many of them have pleated skirts, and batwing sleeves, so they fit large hips and large busts and large upper arms, but still look elegant and classy, You can find Anthony Sicari outfits on Ebay and Etsy, vintage, second hand.

We used to wear white clothes and accessories for the summer season, and black clothes and accessories in winter. However, with the ubiquity of winter sports and winter outfits, winter white is also wearable. Anthony Sicari Outfits What do I like about Anthony Sicari Outfits? 1 If you can get a three piece outfit, scarf included, they look very co-ordinated. 2 Vibrant colours. These suit my complexion. (If you are suited to dull colours, I have a lot of clothes in grey or dusty pink to sell to you.) 3 The clothes don't crease, always look smart. No ironing needed. 4 The upper sleeves on most of the tops and jackets are wide enough for a size 1 person to fit comfortably, whatever size garment you order.
