More on silk, raw silk, smooth silk, sand-washed silk, post 507

I went on Facebook to ask my friends and acquaintances about silk, different types of silk. Raw Silk One person reminded me that raw silk is thick and uneven. She said it feels soft. The first time I bought a raw silk garment not realising the type of fabric. I was disappointed. It was not soft and smooth like sand-washed silk. Thick and lumpy. not so elegant. Its appearance appeals to those who like natural, earthy colours and fabrics. I prefer shiny, luxurious looking. It doesn't have that soothing effect of soft, smooth silk. However, raw silk has some advantages. It is warm. Good as an undergarment in winter. I can turn a lined jacket inside out from the patterned outside to the plain inside. Why not buy or make more? I have run out of storage space. Better to find a new combination. But when I am called for breakfast, I need to dress in a hurry. Not messabout matching up tops and skirts. A pull-on tunic, dress or caftan is quicker.  Let's go back to one of my older dresses. This caftan is handy. I like it. I like the faric. I l...
