Warm in winter, in March in London where it is cold outdoors. The slit in the skirt is filled by a DIY black insert.  Boots Black and red leather with flower petal design. Low. Flat heel.   Selfie by Angela Lansbury, waring an Ann Balon vintage suit and a white blouse. Photo by Angela Lansbury. Copyright. The Blouse Label Japan New Mode. Frilly cravat (jabot?) on front. And frilly cuffs. Metal edged semi-circular white buttons. The Suit The suit is a vintage dark green , thick Ann Balon outfit. I bought two of them. That's why the skirt is different. I have probably accidentally picked up one from each outfit and they are slightly different colours.  The Dickie The dickie, also called a false front, or removable collar, is black thick lace, like crochet. It adds warmth around the neck in winter. It fills in a low neckline. It makes a round neck or v neck look more businesslike. The black can be rather deadening and dull around the face. However, in this case when under a white blouse it makes a pleasant contrast and the blouse means you still have white to the face, to show off your complexion and match your white teeth and white eyes.
