I now have several Indigo Moon items. That does not stop me from looking for more. I am an addict. I want complete outfits.  I found lots of Indigo Moon clothes on Depop. A few on frockery. I got sidetracked by ads from Temu which does not have any Indigo Moon. I still find Ebay is my favourite for large numbers of Indigo Moon clothes listed together in one place.  Etsy also has some from various sellers. I am not the only person. I wondered if it would be too short.  Making Tie Belts Then I wondered whether I could make a tie belt. It is basically a long piece of fabric, seamed along the length. I often see scarved with ridiculous complicated patch patterns.  Why not cut a strip off a scarf. A large, wide scarf. Despite being produced long ago, they are mostly in good condition. Some of them are flimsy without linings. I bought a dozen and none of them had pockets. Lots of jackets were available. Very few coats. No coats in my modest price range of under twenty pounds including postage of up to five pounds. Then I did a search for long coat or jacket with pockets. Up popped this one. Pockets!  I love my Indigo Moon jacket with the elaborate embroidery, curls and swirls, contrasting colours of embroidery against the background. I was not keen on brown, at first. Over the past week I have grown accustomed to it.  I have matched up thin brown silk blouses. They are delicate, too delicate for everyday wear when a thick cotton tee-shirt would be more practical.  I was looking for silk suits, skirt suits, to show you wahat you could buy and wear if you fancied a skirt suit like the one from Patra shown in my prvious blog post. I googled Patra silk skirt and on about my fourth search up came a company which was new to me, Thrift plus. They have been going since 2017. How did I miss them!  I saw a a tee shirt I liked on Etsy.  There was a half price offer on Etsy. Reduced from about 12 to 6, dollars or pounds, it doesn't matter. the important thing is that when I went to checkout I was asked to choose the size. the smallest size was for a baby. When I went to choose my adult size, the price was double the full price which had been shown on Etsy. You need to watch the top price offered as well as the lowest. the system tells you the lowest price for all sizes.  The result was that I was disenchanted with that item, that seller, that website, and shopping online for the day.  I had wasted 20 minutes of my time and not found anything at my price which was 10 to 15 dollars for a a tee shirt or blouse or shirt and 20 for a dress. In Singapore a good place for selling and buying second hand clothes is refash. I have found them good for buying second hand clothes. I used two branches. One is in Changi Point, near the Expo MRT, one stop from Changi Airport. Another place is Carousell. If you are puzzling over the spelling, the usual spelling of the word carousel, which the British call a roundabout, is carousel, but the company name word ends Sell, with a double ll, as in buying and selling. (Eyelet dresses used to be called broderie anglaise. Once folksy, now fashionable. In the old days only white, now also in black and all kinds of colours.) What did I want? Preferably not white, because I already have one in white and would like a change. I bid on this attractive lime green. I won the bidding at only five pounds but the postage was over three so the total was about eight pounds. Still a bargain. The dress price ticket said twenty pounds! The Blue Summer Dress The old blue summer dress was rescued or recycled, scavenged from my spare room in London, England. Lovely colour, bright blue and crisp, contrasting bright white. But I was not keen on the fabric. The style did not suit me because it had spaghetti straps and a low back. This style meant you needed a jacket, and a bra which would not show at the front, on the shoulders, at the back, a whole nuisance.  However, when packing for my Writers' Summer School, and emptying the room for an overnight visitor who is going to that event, I re-discovered the dress. I thought I would try it on. Maybe now I am thinner it will suit me again.  If not, I could cut it up. What could I do? Turn it into a pillow case? Or an apron? Or a tunic? Mango calls their cape jackets cape blazers although they are in finer fabrics and look much smarter. Blazers are traditionally daytime wear. Blazers often have rough, woolly fabric of a summer blazer which keeps you covered and warm. Open arms are intriguingly revealing, subtle, just right for the evening. Gold Colour The gold colour offsets the gold or blonde hair. Also any gold jewellery or watch, or buttons.  I automatically fastened the gold collar at the front. It has slipped sideways. To avoid this happening, I think it is better to fasten it at the back. The one I am wearing is probably not available to my readers. Just as well. Nobody can copy me.   I am wearing a white dickey (a decorative collar without any shirt, just a shirt front). The dickey has buttons which enable me to pin on the napkin to the top button. An alternative would be a brooch or pendant with a chain so you can tuck in the napkin. Whenever I dress for a dinner out, especially in summer and light evenings, I look for something light, a change from the funeral blacks of winter. But I then consider that I might stain my lovely outfit with food.  I don't want to have clothes hung up and never worn. What a waste of money - and wardrobe space. (Americans say closet.) It also protects the fabric from stains, spills and dirt. However, it disguises and is at odds with the diagonal pattern on the outfit. Whilst wearing it, I did not notice this. The effect becomes apparent when I look at how I appear to others, by looking at the photo. I looked around the room and found the bar stool to sit on. Then I scanned the surroundings for a prop. Would you believe, amongst the cups and saucers was this isolated cup and saucer in just the pattern for the dress.   It isn't that difficult to find a matching prop. You have only so many colours, often already three or four in your outfit.  You can search for shapes: circles, discs, semi-circles, swirls, paisley, stripes, small dots. big discs. You can look for flowers, roses, orchids, schematic simple flowers.  If you have a favourite motif, you will find that or be able to find more. I like palm trees. You can sell me anything which is cheap and covered in palm trees. Failing all else, when seeking a prop or background, you could hunt on the internet and print something .
