  My black background tunic, or long tee shirt, from Primark is size 2. The neck label also says Made in Bangladesh.  The pattern on the front says Botanical index. When you look carefully, under each flower is a number, not a name. Flower # 1 to Flower #10. The flower colours are red, orange, yellow. blue, with green stalks. Primark Times & Places I checked Primark opening times. Their store in Harrow was open until 7 pm on Monday June 16th 2025. Harrow is a huge interchange with buses at the bus station opposite the shopping mall going all over London and to Heathrow, and the railway station connecting to central London. What do I love about this dress? Firstly, mostly, the book pattern. I spent hours searching for dresses with book patterns, in various patterns, sizes and colours. This one was affordable, within my budget, as well as the colour red.  Although it is rather short, I hoped that being a large size it would not be too tight. I also hoped that a large size would be longer.  What I like About The Dress Design Buttons It has five large buttons, two on each cuff and one on the neck, no, more than that, six down the front including the one on the neck. No spares. I got it on and off using the buttons. Afterwards, I discovered a long zip down the side. Pockets It has two large pockets. One each side. Vertical pockets in the seams.   Photo by Trevor Sharot. Update, Sept 10th 2022. Former Pyjamas as Skirted Nightwear I had run out of clothes to wear at night because everything was still damp after being washed. So I re-discovered these neglected items, former pyjamas. The top is long. Almost long enough for decency in daytime, when walking around late at night and early morning.  However, I need the skirt part. I need it to sit on a chair. If I have to answer the door for the mail or any caller. Or to exit for a fire alarm. It is good to have your body covered at night. It helps keep the sheets clean. Easier to wash pyjama bottoms than the entire upper and lower sheets on a bed. Why have the pyjamas cut open? Why not just wear the pyjamas?   The open skirt is cooler. I like to let the air in to prevent developing thrush. The Background and Pattern The background is white, shiny, the shadowy parts almost silver. It matches neutral shoes, or contrasts with orange or pink or red - or yellow or white. The fabric feels rough to the touch, but you don't notice when you are wearing it. I looked at it and thought, what can I add? A belt! The Out of The Ordiary Orange and Green Belt I found an old belt with a pattern. I hadn't worn it for years. It always clashed with everything. But a patterned belt is fine with a completely plain colour dress. Yes, it went perfectly. A green and orange belt, with a green dress.  The Perfect Press Stud Best of all, guess what I found.   I took an existing dress as my template. I had an oblong piece of lovely fabric, black background. Shiny pattern. Evening-y.  "Where did it come from?" my husband asked. Fabric I wish I could remember. Maybe an offcut from Spotlight in Singapore. I went out to buy when I bought my sewing machine. Or the Oxfam shop or another charity shop in the UK. I wish I had listed the source. Not that it would help. I could not go back and get more fabric. The patterns and even the fabrics, the opportunities for offcuts, change all the time. But it would be interesting to know. Now I am wearing it, I find that it is stretchy. Maybe I bought it to make a wrap to go with a swimsuit.  My husband raises his eyebrows and shakes his head, "I don't have oblongs of fabric lying around."  He does. Dress of the Day 163. Selfie of Angela wearing her new colourful DIY swimming cap made from an old swimming costume. I arrived back in Singapore from the UK ready to go swimming in the outdoor pool and I found my swimsuit but no swimming cap? Where was it? Luckily nobody was checking and I was able to go swimming in a baseball cap with a brim to keep the sun out of my eyes. I was swimming breast stroke which keeps your head above water, unlike the crawl. The Story of the Search for Swimhats When I reached home, I went online and researched swim hat. I went on google and amazon.com and Ebay - after switching country of delivery to get the true postal address and postal rate.  Swim hat brought up what I would call sun hats, items with large brims, not waterproof. So I tried swim caps. By now, quite tired of this online search, I clicked on a reasonably priced item, from China, not the UK or the USA.
