After taking the photo I noticed the cut rose branch on the grass and moved that. Red Hat - Fascinator What is a fascinator? a small hat worn for formal occasions such as weddings. A gentleman walks on the lady's left so she wears the fasinator on the right to allow him to see her face when they talk. The red hat is from Marks & Spencer. I either bought it in the sale, or because it was red and cheaper than any other red hat. Adding a hat, adds height. The red adds attention-getting colour. The colour can contrast or match.   The white lace skirt and jacket are a matching set. The brand name is Temt. They are an 'affordable' shop, just what I like. I must have seen this at a bargain price. I would have thought, that looks great for a bride, but not for me. Besides the white will easily get stained if I drink coffee or eat a curry. How to Shorten A Skirt When I put the outfit on it consisted of a long skirt and jacket. The skirt was too long. I considered cutting off  a wide piece from the hem. I could use the strip as a headscarf, bandanna, or neck scarf. More usefully, I could use it to extend the skirt upwards and make a top. How to Make A Top Piece 1 I could have attached the cut-off piece to the skirt.  2 Or kept the top as a separate bandeau like a bra, 3 Or short, shoulder covering, short sleeve bolero.  The simplest way would have been to make a bandeau.  If that was too short to cover my bust, I had two further choices.  4 I could use a second strip above the first, ma...

  The scarf The scarf which I wore in my previous post, was worn showing it had three buttons down the front and three down the back. The Scarf - Shopping Scarf by Thomas Calvi, ten pounds, from a UK motorway service station shop between London and Swanwick, Derbyshire, driving back south. The Print You have to stand as I did in the previous post, arms out, to show the full effect of the print. Yesterday I chose a plain colour jacket in pale coral pink, picking out the colour of the scarf, plain rather than print to show the print on the edge of the scarf.  The Scarf Fabric The fabric is see-through and light-weight. It does tend to run easily. If I see a thread hanging, I cut it off before it can catch on something and pull tight. The Buttons This scarf is the same construction as the one in the previous photo.
