Knitted cuffs and waistband. I bought it in St Luke's in Hatch End, NW London. Their shops supporting their local hospice are in Pinner, Harrow St Anns Shopping Mall, Hatch End, Another group of hospice shops is in the Sheffield area of England, and they sell clothing and furniture. So, if you want to put together a colourful and co-ordinated outfit, find a bargain, affordable clothes, or to support charity, you have several choices. Going abroad?   From ebay, so second hand. No label. Maybe Jacques Vert?  First Impression - Feel The Fabric The dress and matching scarf are silky. So far so good. The coat is polyester and feels slightly rough. I was a bit worried when I opened the delivery package and felt it. However, when you are dressed, the silk dress is next to your skin.  The dress is short sleeved. When you get hot, or sit down to dinner you might remove the coat. You could wear a silk vest or blouse with long sleeves under the coat to keep your arms against the smooth fabric.  I wear a long black waist slip as well, from Marks & Spencer. I have been wearing this for years.  The Washing Label The washing label says size 12. Hand wash at 30 degrees. Iron low, on one. 100% polyester. Made in UK. The Style The dress is straight, and sleeveless.  The length is ankle length on me and I am around five foot tall. Not so long that I trip over it.  Wake up colours were on my mind when I chose a bright yellow tee-shirt. It co-ordinates in bright liveliness with my pink jacket. Bright Butter Yellow I was in the mood for something bright. At home. A yellow tee-shirt. Yes, yellow. I had been looking for something yellow for a while. Then I saw the tee-shirt. It was not a great style. But if twas the colour I wanted. Pretty Pink What would go with it? A pink jacket? Not really. I tried on the jacket. Yes, pink and yellow are primary colours, both bright. I once had my colours analysed on a one-day course in Singapore, at a silly (large) price. What suited me, my skin, complexion, eyes, and hair. Royal blues. Vibrant reds. Emerald greens. Deep yellows. Not pale pastels. Nor muddy, murky, autumn colours. Bright summer colours were right for my skin tone. Smiling summer colours. Co-ordinated Skirt  What colour of skirt?  Kimono with colour run. Photo by Angela Lansbury. I hand washed my kimono in cold water. The red colours ran. I now have a streaky pink kimono. the washing label says you can machine wash it! Yet hand washing had this result. I saw the red running as I washed it and finished the washing quickly. You can buy a product which is supposed to remove run stains.  A product called Vanish is on Amazon. Just type in remove stains. You will get Amazon in your location.  However, I don't want to risk any more messing about.  I am glad I took a photo of the kimono as it was yesterday. You can see it pristine in post 238. Pink is the modern colour for girls. Pink for girls and blue for boys. I read that the Victorians originally used the reverse colours.  Previously, pink was considered unsuitable for men. Then it became trendy. Queen Victoria made white wedding dresses popular. But the Chinese think red is lucky.  The Indians wear white for purity when burying the dead. They, too, would opt for a bright colour instead. Is pink the colour for romance, hearts for single hopeful women, dates for the single and date nights for the married. I bought this top on Ebay. I love the pink colour. Perfect pink. Pink goes wonderfully well with white, summer white, clean innocent white. Light-hearted white and pink. Images of candyfloss. (Americans call candy floss, cotton candy.) I love the style. Long sleeves. Roomy enough to be comfortable.  But it felt and looked as if it was wide, baggy over the bust. How to tighten it? I looked at the hanging ribbons. I looked in my sewing box. I had a similar thin pink ribbon. I thought, before I put the handy hanging ribbons, or  spend time sewing, I can pin on the ribbons with safety pins. i can slip the safety pins through the eyelets, without damaging the fabric. Background I chose a background of dark pink roses to match, or complement, the pale pink dress. The dress looks a bit shapeless, a shift dress. But at least it fits. A bra with more uplift might look better. Perhaps a belt at the back. (My other purchase of a wrong size dress, which is a rival, small, size eight dress, is waiting, untouched, on a chair, as if watching me, challenging me to dare to try it on.) The Dress The dress is size 16. The style is neat - it has a zip in the back. The sleeves are bell sleeves. It is lined, except for the sleeves and a band around the waist. Maybe an umbrella best suited to the males in my family. That's handy. Umbrella Colours I was searching for a cheap pink umbrella to go with my pink clothes. I saw this bundle of three on eBay and bought it. Optical Illusion Of Shapes This umbrella appears to be convex, a bowl. (I used to muddle up concave and convex. Then I realized concave is like a cave or bowl. Convex is the other way around.) On eBay the colours of the umbrellas were described as blue, pink and lilac. The pictures certainly showed those colours. Bright jolly colours. The fabric is pale pink with a pale blue imprint. Memories of Plus Size Comfy Clothes 'Shop'  I used to buy the plus size clothes made by Comfy Clothes who had a sales storage cum shop in Queens park. I thought their garments were expensive. But they were large so they used a lot of fabric. They were carefully designed in co-ordinating colours so you could make matching sets. I particularly liked the short sleeved dressed with sleeveless tunic overdresses  in a slightly darker or lighter shade of the same colour.  They also had fabric bags (without zips, which I had to add). And hats? Their clothes were stacked up flat. Ready to be mailed out. Saves on hangers. Folded carefully, they do not crease, although cotton. Because there is so much fabric, they are bulky to pack.  ...

  Some of these apparent dresses are just long tops. That is okay, if you want to wear them over long skirts of a dark colour. Look at the sizing charts to see the length. Some of them are not eyelet all the way around but have a plain white back. Admittedly the sleeves show the eyelet fabric all the way around.
