Are You A Shopping Addict? Remedies To Try. Post 712 by Angela Lansbury.

Today yet another item arrived in the post for me. What was it? It was small. A scarf. Low cost. I have half a dozen items in my watch lists on Ebay. Different colours, sizes, all with this month's trend, passion, serrated edges. Inexpensive vests and tops, a dress, jackets. Should I ask for one for my birthday? Let's admit it. I am addicted. To shopping. Every day I look at Ebay, pay for anything which I bid on, or made an offer on. I see in whatsapp what is about to be delivered. I am inundated by notifications.  Ebay tells me you won. Ebay tells me pay now. Ebay tells me you have paid.  PayPal tells me you have just paid. Paypal tells me my week's spending total. Royal mail tells me I have a tracking number. Royal Mail tells me the item is about to be delivered. Royal mail sends a picture of the item being delivered. Each one makes me go back on line. I can't walk past a sale sign. Or a Marks & Spencer's, or a supermarket such as Sainsbury's with sale clo...

Tanglin Club birthday lunch best features - buttonhole napkins (outfit 389)

Image
I am wearing a white dickey (a decorative collar without any shirt, just a shirt front). The dickey has buttons which enable me to pin on the napkin to the top button. An alternative would be a brooch or pendant with a chain so you can tuck in the napkin. Whenever I dress for a dinner out, especially in summer and light evenings, I look for something light, a change from the funeral blacks of winter. But I then consider that I might stain my lovely outfit with food.  I don't want to have clothes hung up and never worn. What a waste of money - and wardrobe space. (Americans say closet.) You can buy two white dinner napkins for just under 15 collars (plus postage) from Etsy from suppliers in the USA. Others on Etsy offer sets of six at proportional prices. From EmbroiderybyLinda and DapperDiner. The napkins can be supplied in cotton or polyester.  Cotton or Polyester Cotton, for a softer feel? To match your tablecloth. To wash on high heat to get rid of stains and bacteri...

How To Sort Your Clothes By Colour? Lessons from the colour blind, Colour Conscious and Creative! Co-ordinated for all year, day and night time, funerals or weddings, Valentine's Day and special occasions

Image
Brides wear white. A simple colour scheme. White dress, white shoes. Co-ordinated. Colour schemes are chosen for the theme of the wedding. That gets the bride into good habits!   Uncle  Ronald. My colour blind late uncle Ronald had all his clothes sorted into sets with labels: Blue shirt goes with blue tie. White shirt goes with black tie. Since he had recently died, I was the executor of his will, this made me very sad. Now, several years on, I can turn this story around. Isn't that great? Yes! He was able to go out, perfectly co-ordinated. His life was in order. At least, his clothes were in order. The handwriting was not his, so somebody else had helped him to organize the colours.  What a useful lesson. I could do the same. You could do the same.  He had very few clothes. Less than a dozen shirts. Less than a dozen ties. In a morning, afternoon or evening, he could have listed all the colours and sorted out the scheme for the rest of his life. You and I cou...
