Red and Ready With A Sequin Skirt For Fun. Dress Post 687 by Angela Lansbury

Image
Details of the boots and skirt are in other posts but I shall repeat the information here. Skirt Source From Peacocks in December 2025. Red sequins. Look closely and you see they are small size, in vertical strips. On a stretchy mesh base. Half lining from waist to upper thigh.  Advantages of the Garment Design The Colour Cheerful bright red colour. Makes me happy. And confident. Dressy for an evening. Brightens up burgundy clothes outfits which otherwise might look dull and depressing in dull light. The Skirt Slit For easy of movement, a slit. to look sexy you might have this at the front. The skirt is roughly the same length all around and not yet stretched out of shape and longer at the back, so I try to keep it consistently at the back to hide non matching or distracting lower leg leggings worn underneath when going outdoors to travel to a destination in cold winter evenings in London Advantages of A Half Lining The skirt lining is only half length. This must save the ma...

Yellow and green genuine leather ankle boots outfit 658 by Angela Lansbury

Image
Yellow leather ankle boots with yellow and green petal sewn on flowers. Photo by Angela Lansbury.  Copyright. I already have both red books and black boots in this style. They get constant compliments. The inside sole of one of my boots wore down. I covered it with a loose inner sole cut to fit. I looked online. My inner sole seemed a success. But I still needed to check the availability of a replacement pair of boots. Since the red pair was still wearable, why not buy another colour? In previous years I had rejected the yellow version, because it would match fewer outfits and probably get dirty and shabby quicker, with less chance of an inconspicuous repair. The black ones could easily be restored using paint-on black leather touch up. I put the yellow ones I found at two different prices into the out tray or cart on a couple of websites on my laptop. However, when I looked later, the dearer one had already sold out. When I found the cheaper one available, I decided to make...

Anthony Sicari Outfit and Union Jack Hat for a speech contest Dress of the Day 625

Image
Anthony Sicari Outfit The Anthony Sicary outfit consists of a tknitted white top with a pleated skirt. I wanted the lively pattern of the red, white and blue and green to look lively and smart when I was on stage.  The Top The sleeves are short, so I wore a white long-sleeved blouse underneath.  For added warmth, I added blue mock velvet track suit trousers, over red and black leather boots. The Boots The boots are wide acrooss the toe, like Crocs. This pair is red, with heart shaped leaves like petals arranged in a circle to make a flower on the toe. I have one pair with dark red, and red and black flowers, The other is black with read and black flowers. Union Jack Hat The Union Jack hat came from St Luke's charity shop in Hatch End, north west London. But the place to buy these is from party shops. You can buy lots of items of clothing and souvenirs with Union Jacks in souvenir shops and kioks in central London. The Flags Of Italy and Switzerland The flags were detache...

Anthony Sicari Dark Pink Top with Scarf, and St Anthony Vintage Jacket, Post 431

Image
Angela Lansbury wearing an Ahtony Sicari top with matching scarf, and a skirt and blouse. Photo by Trevor Sharot. Edited by Angela Lansbury. Copyright Angela Lansbury. Dark Pink Knitted Top The garment label is Anthony Sicari, my favourite. Why? 1 His outfits come with batwing sleeves so they are never too tight but always fit.  2 The second feature I like is the vibrant colours. 3 I like the co-ordinated look. Many of the outfits come as they must have started out, as three pieces, a skirt, top and matching scarf. Three pieces, more for your money. No time wasted looking for a matching scarf. This top comes with scarf pinned on. I found underneath the scarf, hidden, were two tiny gold colour safety pins. .  The knitted fabric is dark pink.  The long, tight forearm cuffs are ruched. The cuff fabric is bright pink. Pinky-red, purple, green and blue. The Red Skirt The red skirt label is EWM Pure classics size 14. 49% linen, 45 viscose, 6% cotton.    Angela wearing...

Dress of the Day 117 Love Lavender: Lavender and burgundy knit, with lavender scarf, burgundy pom-pom hat and bugundy boots

Image
I wore the scarf underneath the pom-pom hat for warmth. The burgundy knitted hat picks out the burgundy colours in the stripes, and the burgundy boots.  The burgundy boots by SOCOFY brand, were ordered in last year's end of season sale from New Chic. They now have another sale. The lavender knitted and fringed scarf is from Marks & Spencer. Labelled lilac. They have big branches in the UK and Singapore. Never-ending Sales I remember that in the USA, instead of the twice a year sales we had in the UK, (January sales and end of summer sales), sales went on all year. Every shop had a permanent sale rail.  As drove out of left Rockville Maryland on a fFriday night, i saw a sign, Last Day Of Summer Sale tomorrow. When we returned on the Saturday, as we approached the shop, I sighed, "Their winter sale is over." My husband replied. "Don't worry, before we go back to England, there will be another sale." He was so right. As we turned the corner I saw the welc...
