The black Broderie Anglaise Dress I met a girl in the lift. She was wearing a striking black broderie anglaise dress, with the holes outlined in white. I thought it was very pretty.  But this was a good outfit for the office. The black is a colour which does not show the dirt and biro marks. White is jolly and relieves the otherwise funereal black. I asked her where she bought it. She said in Chinatown in Singapore. The cost was about 40 Singapore dollars.  The dress looked even better when I was standing beside her and could see only the sleeves. She has a white watch strap and white shoes.  The black of the dress echoes her black hair. And even her phone! Several people liked my 'hat'.  Useful Websites You could easily make a photo corner at a family Christmas party. Set up a real or fake camera on a tripod with a photographer. A plain wall or draped sheet as a background. Or  print off a Christmas scene or hang up a Christmas theme tee towel or tee shirt or print one off blown up to poster size or a smaller one in a frame, or a tree as a prop. Put a few hats, masks and other props and printed signs on a table.  Props You can buy a bag of props inexpensively at Daiso or any supermarket or online from party shops. You can make bows or bow ties in red or white or green from fabric or paper. Or print colour onto paper - or just the frame of paper (to save on ink).  Print a word such as Merry Christmas. Shein is, and was recently, according to sources quoted by Wikipedia, the largest online retailer, outdoing Amazon. Shein sells affordable clothes, very popular with teens. The company is based in China but sells to more than 200 countries.  (220!) The name was originally Sheinside, but that was shortened to shein. (Not Shein, rhyming with German ein nor wein.) Chinese 希音 Literal meaning "sound of hope Standard Mandarin Hanyu Pinyin Xīyīn I used translate Google and tried reversing to English- Chinese, and back to Chinese-English. I split the Chinese visual phrase into the two separate words or sounds. I struggled with that. Never mind. It's okay, so long as I can get it sounding right in English, she-yin. This close-up has some advantages. It shows my blue eyes matching the jacket. It shows the teeny blue heart matching the jacket. However, I also wanted a distant shot to show the whole outfit, head to toe, or at least from the ankles, or calves, or hips, or at least from the hem of the jacket. So I set the camera up on a window ledge. Indoors -Adjusting the camera Stand your mobile phone on a worktop such as a kitchen peninsular unit which is high. You might need a box or large, firm device to raise the height of the camera. Or hang the camera over something, with a towel underneath in case it falls off. I had seen long skirts and dresses for ten dollars and twelve dollars in the Indian shops in little India walking along Serangoon Road from the Little India MRT station to Mustafa's.  I was right to wait and check out the styles and prices in Mustafa Centre. These nighties were just what I wanted. Loose, light weight dresses which I could wear around the house. I tried them on in the changing room and took pictures to see if they suited me, the colours and the styles. I was delighted. I bought both the red and the blue. Payment The 24 hour department store takes credit cards. You don't have to remember your password any longer. That's a blessing for people like me who cannot remember a password.
