Silver Nail Varnish. Post 845 by Angela Lansbury

Silver nail polish on nails. Photo by Angela Lansbury. I love red nail varnish.  Why not wear it every day? It chips. It does not go with orange nor pink. It probably does no good to your nails. Co-ordinating Colours Of Clothes & Nail Varnish Regarding co-ordinating, I used to take a lot of travel weekends away. I had a small suitcase and stuck to a simple colour scheme of red, black and white. Then I got tired of constant red clothes. My colleagues complained that I was always wearing red. I switched to oranges and pinks. But that meant my orange varnish clashed. Advantages of White Nail Varnish For practicality, I started wearing white nail varnish. White went with everything, red outfits, pink, orange. No clash. Recently I admired a friend's colour scheme of turquoise and silver. She wore silver nail varrnish. Like my white, it went with everything. But also with silver jewellery. I looked in local shops and supermarkets and pharmacies for silver nail polish. No luck....

How to make a belt quickly to pull a loose dress into a form fitting dress 502

Angela Lansbury, wearing a red loose dress, pulled in by a diy ribbon belt. Photo by Trevor Sharort. How To Make A belt All you need is a piece of ribbon in one of the colours in your dress. Alternatively, match the accessories such as the shoes and matching bag, or slip. I looked at another dress I had with a belt consisting of two halves from either side of the waist to tie at the back. The belt was made from two seamed pieces of fabric of the same material as the dress. I did not have spare fabric and did not want to cut off the hem. I looked at my rolls of red ribbon. The only piece long enough was very narrow. I presume it was the sort sold for tying parcels at Christmas. It had a gold edge.  The advantage of narrow ribbon is that you would only need half a dozen stitches to sew it on. I folded the ends back and sewed it on horizontally, pointing towards the back.  We were rushing out to lunch. I did not have time to sew on the second half. What could I do? I found...

Red cape blazer, from Shein, outfit (dress of the day) 479

From Shein: Angela Lansbury is wearing a red cape blazer. Selfie photo by Angela Lansbury. Copyright. Red Cape Blazer  The fabric meets all the way across to button up. It has two large central buttons. No spare button. The collar is lined. The lining goes down the front under the buttons and buttonholes. The shoulders are padded.   The two deep flaps are false pockets.  The narrow neck label with the name Shein is sewn at the edges left and right only, so it could be used as a hanging loop. However, given the creasing, I would hang it on a hanger. Style  This really is a cape. The sleeve is the edge of the cape, sewn down across the front of the shoulder. (Unlike my other jackets,  97% polyester, 3 % elastane. Creases badly. But I like it. The vibrant red seems to glow. My white nail varnish looks terrific against the red. Size Size M. EU 38. US 6. Made in China.  White Nail Varnish White nail varnish from Tesco Express was only about 2.50 GDP (Grea...

Packing for a long weekend, 4 days, or midweek event, 5 days, outfit 414, Next, a striped purple blouse with two pockets

I have started unpacking and re-packing. Packing List - Deleting Items My husband suggested that he revises his packing list for a hiking holiday every year by striking off the list any items he did not wear. Unpacking  - Washing I am unpacking. Washing anything which might otherwise set the stain, need to be washed and be wet when re-packing.  Unwashed items can attract moths. I have saved a laundry bag from a hotel. A plastic laundry bag can last for years. One friend said she simply washes everything. No need to sort. Count days No need to over-pack. Count the number of days and nights. If you need to wear something twice, and items take two days to dry, you can wash items from the first two days on a five day holiday. That means packing only three items instead of five.  The item you wore travelling on the first day can be worn on the way home.  Rehearsing The week before, I wear (and wash) every item. Then, if I don't have the matching shoes, or underwear,...
