I bought my first oriental caftan in Singapore at a time when I was over there and overweight and all the clothes sold locally were for Chinese teenagers who were a size 8 when I was size 16. The skirts were indecently short. The buttons and zips would not do up. The seams split if I tried to pull the garments on. Sometimes, in a changing room, I was trapped inside a garment half way, trying to take it off again. Convenient and Quick Convenient. Quick to put on. No decisions about which top matches which skirt and trousers. All you need to match is the shoes. Add a belt if the caftan is too long and tripping you up, or hiding your pretty shoes.
