Angela Lansbury wearing a red beret. The Red  Beret The red beret completes the outfit. The Red Skirt The long skirt label is Jacques Vert. The style is flared. Easy for walking around the exhibition all day. And flights of stairs on the London underground, and over the railway line at Olympia station. The Red Jacket The label is Indigo Moon. Bought from Ebay. The Red Boots I invested in leather boots, wide toes, a zip up the back. You can buy them in burgundy red, all black, or yellow. I have worn them in several others posts where I listed the supplier. Suppliers of Berets Amazon has crochet red berets from about 7 pounds. Many sites have berets costing twenty pounds or more. Ebay has red berets at just over  three pounds with just over three pounds for shipping or six pounds plus with free shipping. White berets were offered at about four pounds from Shein and five pounds from others with reductions when buying two or more hats. Several sellers on ebay offered a larg...

Orange Long Dress With Matching Long Coat And Wide Scarf, elegant dress of the day 558

Image
From ebay, so second hand. No label. Maybe Jacques Vert?  First Impression - Feel The Fabric The dress and matching scarf are silky. So far so good. The coat is polyester and feels slightly rough. I was a bit worried when I opened the delivery package and felt it. However, when you are dressed, the silk dress is next to your skin.  The dress is short sleeved. When you get hot, or sit down to dinner you might remove the coat. You could wear a silk vest or blouse with long sleeves under the coat to keep your arms against the smooth fabric.  I wear a long black waist slip as well, from Marks & Spencer. I have been wearing this for years.  The Washing Label The washing label says size 12. Hand wash at 30 degrees. Iron low, on one. 100% polyester. Made in UK. The Style The dress is straight, and sleeveless.  The length is ankle length on me and I am around five foot tall. Not so long that I trip over it. Just long enough to cover socks and not leave a gap ...

Post 581 A reminder from previous posts. Jacques Vert means Jack Green in French, which the two founders thought sounded better in French. They created the name from the first name of one partner, Jack, and the family name of his friend, Green. Jacques Vert white blouse with orange edging.  Orange dress with spagetti straps. Post 578. Angela Lansbury in red Jacques Vert suit with red Anthony Sicari top. Dress of the day 566. Photo by Sharot family. The top is worn underneath. Doesn't that sound odd, and amusing. Top underneath it sounds like a contradiction, an oxymoron. Top means top half of the body, above the skirt. Underneath means under the jacket. The Jacques Vert Suit The red jacket has three fabric covered buttons. Two false pockets are on the front of the jacket. The restored pink belt with the bold buckle. Photo by Angela Lansbury ...

Jacques Vert Blouse In Blue And White: Dress of the Day 780

Angela Lansbury wearing a blue and white blouse by Jacques Vert. Photo by Trevor Sharot. Copyright. Where From My policy, as I promoted it on a speech to Agora, to shop in my own home, browse in the wardrobe and the spare room. Rescue my own clothes.  Move clothes around to alarm the clothes moths. Discourage them from feeding baby moths on my precious clothes.   Jacques Vert translates as Jack Green. The French name sounds much more glamorous to English speakers. The name is not from one man called Jack Green, but from two tailors, one whose first name was Jack, and the other whose surname was Green. (See Wikipedia for the full story, simplified and verified.) The item I am wearing is vintage. Made in England. 100% polyester. Wash on 30 degrees centigrade. Size 10. Short spin. Do not wring. The Style The style is interesting. The double bodice resembles the front of a cape blazer, but without the cape effect at the back and without the slit sleeves.  The back and ...

Dress of the Day 122 Red long skirt 4 piece suit, modelled by Angela Lansbury, the author. UK flag.

I found this lovely item by looking for a 'long red skirt' on Ebay, then trying '4 piece skirt suit. and looking for red. The Jacques Vert company makes clothes which suit me. The colours are vibrant.  Fabric Negatives Let's look at this suit. Let's start with the negative and end on a positive note.  The fabrics is not cotton or natural and not soft.  Positives People who go for suits, and jackets with sharp edge collars, are generally more concerned with how they look than how they feel. (I think of Cher, who I heard had ribs removed to accentuate a slim body and waist. Her attitude was no pain no gain.) A synthetic fabric might feel a little rough, if you run your fingertips over it, but it is crease-free, so it travels well, looks good on arrival, needs no time ironing.  The fabric repels stains. It comes up clean when washed.  The styling is great. The Scarf I love the pattern. I love how it co-ordinates. Why bother spending a day trying to match up a...
