  St Patrick's Day Cardigan March 17th is St Patrick's Day, celebrated worldwide by people from the Republic of Ireland, Eire, and the North of Ireland, and by Irish people and their family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers. Restaurants, hotels and businesses and tourist boards enthusiastically join in, with decorations, dance displays, food and drink coloured green. Customers turn up at pubs in green clothes and accessories. Pubs worldwide sell hats, or give them away free to the high spenders or all customers.  Clearance And Date of St Patrick's Day In 2026 and for another few years St Patrick's day fall on a weekday so people celebrate with public parades on the weekend before and/or the weekend afterwards. Go into a pub with signs over the doorway to enjoy green drinks, green posters and to be surrounded by staff and customers wearing gree.  Some pubs sell green hats. Others give Guinness hats for free to all buyers of Guinness or all paying customers. Others have quizzes and give hats as prizes.  Online you can buy tee shirts and whole outfits in green with mottoes. Also spectacles and masks with shamrocks (three leaf clovers, or lucky four leaf clovers.  The word shamrock is Irish for little clover. Where can you wear and share? Hyde Park Corner On Sunday 16th March 2025 in London a parade starts at Hyde Park Corner. Expect to see floats with music and dancing. A time to see what others are wearing and to show off your green clothes. Trafalgar Square Expect free shows of music and dancing on a stage. You can buy Irish food.   Green is the colour for St Patrick's day. You can buy outfits with leprechauns. Tee-shirts with assorted designs.  Or make your own green outfits and ear-rings. I have described making ear-rings or buying applique fabric in another post.  I am wearing a green silk top. You can buy a simple green silk tank top, a sleeveless straight top, from ebay for under ten pounds. Amazon has lots of leprechaun and other seasonal tee-shirts.
