Angela Lansbury wearing at waistcoat with palm trees.   Photo by Angela Lansbury. The Shein Waistcoat The waistcoat came from St Lukes charity shop. The label is Shein. Made in China. As you might expect  The St Luke's price was £3. I googled waistcoat, Shein, parrot, and the exact sme garment appeared immediately. The Shein model was wearing it over a white crop top with short denim shorts. The price was ten pounds plus three pounds postage. But as a new customer or returning customer (eg after a gap of several weeks not ordering) you might get offered free postage.  I like the fact that the patterns on the right and left mirror each other as if the parrots are about to speak to each other. Useful search words for the same or similar garments would be beach scene, colourful, multicolor, palm trees, sleeveless jacket, tank top, top, Travachic, tropical print, vest, waistcoat.  The Straw Hat  The straw hat was free, a promotional gift.   Angela Lansbury wearing a straw hat and waistcoat with palm trees  Photo by Angela Lansbury. The Straw Hat Adapted With A Lining The straw hat had spiky pieces of straw prickling my scalp. I had previously gone to the expense of buying an orange skull cap But today I happened to have a small white linen table napkin lying next to the hat. I folded. It to fit inside the dome of the hat . The linen did the trick. Temporarily. But the new liner slipped. So I needed to fasten it to the hat with 2 safety pins. I also needed two ribbons. One either side, sewn on inside to the inner headband. But there was no inner headband or sweatband.  The straw hat was a promotional gift. Advertising Ceará. Ceara is the sandy coastal state in north eastern Brazil. An article about Panama hats from Ecuador alerted me to the qualities of genuine hand made hats using natural fibres. One thing to look for is the straw edging of the brim. Not machine sewing with thread nor glue.  Descubrac...

Peach white dress by Paramour, reversible. Orange party hat from Ebay. Blouse with embroidered collar. Rust colour silk waistcoat with long waist ties.   With white blouse with embroidered collar. Orange brimmed hat. Rust red waistcoat with front waist ties. Reversible Dresses The Paramour reversible dresses are sold from a shop in Bourton on the water, where Covid-19 has cut down the opening hours but, as they say on their website, they are open 24 hours online. They offer a good choice of reversible Paramour dresses and reversible tops at about 22.99 pounds sterling plus postage. What I like about Paramour reversible dresses is the capped sleeve. Many reversible dresses have no sleeve. The short sleeve looks more elegant. The Orange Hat Absolute bargain at only two pounds ninety nine pence to the UK from Shanghai, postage free. I ordered two, one from a UK supplier charging slightly more as I wanted to be sure of delivery whilst I was in the UK.  The second one from ov...

Dress of the Day 125 Horse mad.Wearing a horse pattern waistcoat. All about waistcoats.

I am still choosing. Something to be noticed and remembered. Hm!  Horses for courses. I am going horse. (Pun on hoarse.) The Waistcoat Horse mad. The label on the five-button, horse-pattern waistcoat says: Made in Italy for Simpson, Piccadilly. Silk. The horses are white. Ah - white horses! The horses have yellow bridles. The background pattern is a checkerboard of black and dark teal green. The back is plain black, because waistcoats are supposed to be worn as part of a man's three piece suit. They are worn for weddings and grand occasions. If you hire an outfit for a wedding, you can choose one which comes with a waistcoat. When you return the suit to the hire company, remember the waistcoat! One person forgot, at the wedding of our son. Luckily, we were able to return it the next day, still in time for the deadline, without incurring extra charges. Impeccable of Hatch End sold some of their waistcoats very cheaply at the end of the season a year or two ago. They had a vari...
