  Photo by Angela Lansbury White cape blazer The white cape blazer adds the pezzaz. The cape blazer was bought from Mango in Madeira. Mango has branches in many other countries, includiing Singapore.  The size is European size XL. That is Large in the USA.  The jacket is lined. It has two pockets with a neat top edging strip.  I sewed on white plastic clips in the middle centre. I am barefoot because we have all taken off our shoes indoors. No chance of high heels making you look taller. Nobody tells you to take off your shoes. You just see that the host is without shoes. A huge area of shoes is by the door. It is obvious that you are expected to remove your shoes.  Why remove shoes? For cleanliness. The lion dancers will be lying on the floor.  Now in February 2023 I cannot see cape blazers in Mango. Shein and many other online companies have cape blazers or jackets, as well as dresses and full length coats, at attractive prices. But lower prices may mean ...

  The Collar Of Double Lace & Sparkles White collars look most effective against red. The collar is in two layers. At the back it fastens with a button and a tiny loop made from a piece of white tubular elastic. The white jacket is a cape blazer. The cape is fixed across the top of the shoulder and a few inches down the arms to create the tailored military look at the top. However, it leaves your arms free, revealing the arm or contrasting blouse sleeve  and looks elegant. The gold hat is saved from New Year's Eve. I am wearing it because I wanted a glamorous dressed up outfit, suitably festive for my picture with my birthday cake.   Angela is wearing: A red satin effect skirt, brand label Platinum. A form-fitting red top. Reversed back to front to hide the white cartoon picture. A white cape blazer, brand White bird. (Yes, lower case for bird.) Red shoes with toe post and sparkly diamond effect glass beads and wedge heels, brand Covet. A red wig. (Available from party shops online.) Santa Hats Angela and the doll are wearing red Santa hats, bought from bargain store Daiso in Singapore where everything is 2 dollars. Daiso is Japanese and  also has branches in  many other countries. Rescued Dolly The dolly was rescued and washed. She looked a bit sulky with a small mouth so I drew on her face using a pen. I added a smile line going up both sides of her mouth and small lines either side of her eyes.  You can't see the tiny lines on the photo nor on Zoom. Dress of the day 161. My title, all white on the night, is a pun on All Right On The Night. I was dressed in my Brown, black and white caftan (Dress 158) for speed and comfort, acting as Language Evaluator for the English language Toastmasters Club Legacy's online meeting, when the Toastmaster of the Day announced: "Our theme is white. Please wear something white."  I was busy writing notes on which speakers used my word of the day, pure, purify, purity, but in the interval I dashed to my wardrobe to find a white blouse or jacket to wear over the caftan. I found both. The blouse is labelled BHS (for British Home Stores) and the brand is Topline. It is polyester, size 16 and made in Korea. The jacket is a cape blazer from Mango.Made in Vietnam. Size EUR XL, USA L, MEX EG. I looked for white shoes, but my lovely white shoes had disintegrated. So opted for brown. Neutral. Did not clash. Sort of went with the brown of the caftan.
