Wearing a dark long sleeved tee shirt or clinging vest over a short sleeved eyelet garment has three good results.  The original purpose was to keep warm on a day when I felt cold, possibly due to not enough sleep.  The surprise benefits were that the sleeves form a contrast with the main body colour of the top.
