Mutli-Layer Travel Outfits - advantages. Dress blog Post 698 by Angela Lansbury.

Winter Warmth - from layering A long winter jacket or coat with a hood is practical for concealing clothes underneath. I opened the front door, was overwhelmed by the cold, and went back inside to add extra layers. I did this in winter in London, England, in February, for extra warmth. Pink Jacket Indigo Moon Jacket Many Indigo Moon jackets and outfits are available on Ebay and Etsy. Patra Vests Double Hat Double Socks I wore long socks in red and white stripes for warmth underneath shorter black socks. The black socks hid the red and white and co-ordinated with my trousers (Americans say pants), my black skirt, black and burgundy boots. Traveling Light Layering is also good for those who want to travel light, without a heavy bag.  Also for those who want to take lots of stuff. For example, for an overnight or weekend stay away from home. Or a travel trip on a budget airline which charges for luggage, by weight or volume.   Travelling On Budget Airlines A padded coat is a...

Leopard Skin Outfits Galore For sexy, Snazzy Girls, 'a la' outfits, post 535

Angela Lansbury wearing a leopard pattern coat from St Luke's in London, England. Photo by Trevor Sharot. I bought a budget price coat in loepard skin pattern. I was sure I had bought something in that pattern previously. I searched my own blog and discovered that I already own several outfits.  I also have, somewhere in my clutter of clothes, an assortment of amusing acessories. My low price items include a fun, leopard skin pattern cowgirl hat.   Low Price Leopard Skin Coat & Accessories See also post 527 of Angela Lansbury in a leopard skin pattern coat from St Luke's in London, England. Free Leopardskin Broken Umbrella The cheapest item was completely free, a rescued broken umbrella which somebody had abandoned under a bush after a shower of rain in Singapore. I could not bear to part with the pretty fabric. I cut it off.  I placed it over another plain colour umbrella. You could do this to rescue an umbrella and disguise or replace fabric which has lines of ...

Green Sandals For St Patrick's Day. Dress 345. Favourite Future Footwear? Add funny green tee-shirts

Green sandals. Photo by Angela Lansbury. Copyright.  I bought sandals with a green pattern like a shamrock ready for St Patrick's day. The brand, according to what is stamped on the shoes and typed onto the label is AvvaRa. The R is reversed like Toys R us. Unfortunately I have not yet found how to produce this reversed letter. I looked up AvvaRa. I found that they have a Facebook page. However, they appear to be selling wholesale to shops or suppliers and not selling or showing their full range online. I bought my sandals in Sunshine grocery store in Cashew Heights Condo, Singapore.  I bought the sandals in size 4. I buy boots in size five, and can wear socks to pad them out to the right size. I prefer adjustable shoes as my feet swell up in the heat and then shrink in cold weather or air conditioning. However, you need to buy toe-post shoes smaller. Too large and you are gripping them and getting hammer toes.  Or the sandals slip off. You fall. Or risk falling. Inconven...

Dress of the Day 117 Love Lavender: Lavender and burgundy knit, with lavender scarf, burgundy pom-pom hat and bugundy boots

Image
I wore the scarf underneath the pom-pom hat for warmth. The burgundy knitted hat picks out the burgundy colours in the stripes, and the burgundy boots.  The burgundy boots by SOCOFY brand, were ordered in last year's end of season sale from New Chic. They now have another sale. The lavender knitted and fringed scarf is from Marks & Spencer. Labelled lilac. They have big branches in the UK and Singapore. Never-ending Sales I remember that in the USA, instead of the twice a year sales we had in the UK, (January sales and end of summer sales), sales went on all year. Every shop had a permanent sale rail.  As drove out of left Rockville Maryland on a fFriday night, i saw a sign, Last Day Of Summer Sale tomorrow. When we returned on the Saturday, as we approached the shop, I sighed, "Their winter sale is over." My husband replied. "Don't worry, before we go back to England, there will be another sale." He was so right. As we turned the corner I saw the welc...

Dress 89 Silver boots (Clarks) with silver blue hanky hem decoupage dress

Image
Silver boots from Clarks. I bought them in a sale in Brent Cross Shopping Centre.  I lost a button. I went back to the shop a year later to ask if they could supply a button or cover a same size button with silver leather. They could not. As I was leaving I glanced at the sale section. Another pair of boots - the same style. A size larger, but I only wanted them for the button.  When I got home, I found that by wearing a thick pair of socks, I could wear the larger pair, which were intact. The pair with the missing button could be worn with long skirts which covered that area.  Search for silver boots, leather boots, or Clarks boots, or Brent Cross opening hours.
