Where to find Anthony Sicari Outfits - to order online or from overseas

Image
Angela Lansbury in pink and grey Anthony Sicari. \ Searching and Spelling What I am going to tell you about the Anthony Sicari label also applies to many other labels. First you must type the name correctly.  The first name is Anthony with a t. Like Ant - (honey). The family name is Sicari, ending in i, not y. Not like scary and mary. Like Ari. As in Arithmetic. Foreign names such as Maori, or hari kiri end in i. English words from Greek have a y at the end of the word, copying the Greek final Y. Sicari is an Italian family name. What about Anthony with an h. However, when I typed it in incorrectly with no t, I got one reply on ebay. So by typing correctly and incorrectly, you might find an extra item.  When I typed the name wrongly, I did wonder why so few results. Then I realised what the problem was. I tried typing it correctly again , not within Ebay but in Goggle, and, guess what - loads more finds - this time not on Ebay but on Etsy. The same applies when you are selling. Some o

Where to Buy Polo neck shirts? From Vietnam, Marks & Spencer Online, Girlguiding Shop and Under Armour Worldwide

Image
Guide's polo shirt. From Girlguiding shop A friend of mine wrote that he saw a man in a Rolls Royce wearing a polo neck shirt, but could not imagine where to buy such a thing. No problem. Just google it. I have bought very smart polo neck shirts in leisure centre shops.  Round Necks and V Necks From Vietnam The best round neck shirts which looked smart and felt soft were sold in the shops in Hanoi,Vietnam. Those shirts came in a range of vibrant colours, such as royal blue, green, black, burgundy, with different necklines, round or V neck. Suitable for both men and women.  The brand was Under Armour. I loved the colours. Round neck shirt, bearing brand name Under Armour, which we bought in Vietnam. Photo by Angela Lansbury. Dress of the Day 127. That Hat! Where did you get that hat?

Image
Dress of the Day 127 - smile with Angela. The hat came with the jacket. I love the orange. Who made it? I look for the label. I find: Dry clean only. The Label is Vivienne Lawrence. I rescued this jacket from my own junk suitcase. I was not keen on the squares on the scarf. I like curves, swirls, and  ovals, rather than geometric squares, and oblongs and triangles and stripes and checkboards and herringbone. I had just put the jacket and sewn on scarf away for storage when I discovered the matching hat. Wonderful. I had been wanting an orange hat to go with all my orange clothes. I had ordered an orange cowgirl hat online but that does not suit every suit. Then I found the hat to match the jacket and suddenly the jacket was transformed into a trendy, smart outfit. More good news. I found two good features you and I could copy from this ensemble outfit. 1 The Miracle of Interfacing The bow tie on the hat is made from the same fabric as the scarf. but while the scarf is soft, the bow i

Dress of the Day 125 Horse mad.Wearing a horse pattern waistcoat. All about waistcoats.

Image
I am still choosing. Something to be noticed and remembered. Hm!  Horses for courses. I am going horse. (Pun on hoarse.) The Waistcoat Horse mad. The label on the five-button, horse-pattern waistcoat says: Made in Italy for Simpson, Piccadilly. Silk. The horses are white. Ah - white horses! The horses have yellow bridles. The background pattern is a checkerboard of black and dark teal green. The back is plain black, because waistcoats are supposed to be worn as part of a man's three piece suit. They are worn for weddings and grand occasions. If you hire an outfit for a wedding, you can choose one which comes with a waistcoat. When you return the suit to the hire company, remember the waistcoat! One person forgot, at the wedding of our son. Luckily, we were able to return it the next day, still in time for the deadline, without incurring extra charges. Impeccable of Hatch End sold some of their waistcoats very cheaply at the end of the season a year or two ago. They had a variety o

I looked around the room and found the bar stool to sit on. Then I scanned the surroundings for a prop. Would you believe, amongst the cups and saucers was this isolated cup and saucer in just the pattern for the dress.   It isn't that difficult to find a matching prop. You have only so many colours, often already three or four in your outfit.  You can search for shapes: circles, discs, semi-circles, swirls, paisley, stripes, small dots. big discs. You can look for flowers, roses, orchids, schematic simple flowers.  If you have a favourite motif, you will find that or be able to find more. I like palm trees. You can sell me anything which is cheap and covered in palm trees. Failing all else, when seeking a prop or background, you could hunt on the internet and print something . What can you do with an A4 print? Turn it into a book cover.  Load up your photo to make a backdrop in zoom. Use screen capture which is usually a key on your keyboard. You could even photograph your outfit,

Dress of the Day 123: Gorgeous Green Ann Balon Skirt Outfit with Lace Insets - and how you can make inserts easily

Image
I bought this on Ebay. It grows on you, metaphorically. I saw it in the pictures and it looked gray. I had had two green outfits from Ann Balon label before. Sagging elastic so the skirt slid down to your hips. Striped colours on the waistband. Inside hem darker than the faded front. So I was a bit wary about this one. However, when I looked carefully I was delighted. I had other Ann Balon outfits with lace edging which I loved. But this one had a large lace inset at the front hem. I had another company's cheaper dress in mustard colour, a layered dress, with a matching scarf, and insets of lace, from a fine, thin, lightweight, rough cheesecloth. Dress 68 in tiers. With matching scarf.  But my new, second hand, green Ann Balon outfit was even more amazing and intricate. It also had godets, (triangular elongated A-shaped inset in a skirt. What are godets for?  To expand the hem to almost circular so it swirls. Godets look fancy. They enable you to climb stairs and get onto buses.

Dress of the Day 122 Red long skirt 4 piece suit, modelled by Angela Lansbury, the author. UK flag.

I found this lovely item by looking for a 'long red skirt' on Ebay, then trying '4 piece skirt suit. and looking for red. The Jacques Vert company makes clothes which suit me. The colours are vibrant.  Fabric Negatives Let's look at this suit. Let's start with the negative and end on a positive note.  The fabrics is not cotton or natural and not soft.  Positives People who go for suits, and jackets with sharp edge collars, are generally more concerned with how they look than how they feel. (I think of Cher, who I heard had ribs removed to accentuate a slim body and waist. Her attitude was no pain no gain.) A synthetic fabric might feel a little rough, if you run your fingertips over it, but it is crease-free, so it travels well, looks good on arrival, needs no time ironing.  The fabric repels stains. It comes up clean when washed.  The styling is great. The Scarf I love the pattern. I love how it co-ordinates. Why bother spending a day trying to match up a skirt an

CLOTHES Skirt. Top. Sandals. Josef Seibel. ACCESSORIES Tote bag. Witch's Hat, for child 3-4 years. I am older than that, but it was the only size they had, so I bought it. I planned to insert an a shape black extender at the back but never got around to it.  Adapting the Small Hat However, the hat, being small at the crown, was not secure. I pulled it down but it was shiny and kept springing up my hair. Then it kept falling off.  So I found a long ribbon and considered cutting it and added two ribbons. One on either side under the brim. I should have cut the ribbon to the right length, possible longer on one side to make the bow. Then sewn it on. I had a long ribbon and no time to cut it in two and sew on two pieces before my meeting. So I grabbed a pair of scissors, cut two tiny slits in the fabric of the brim either side of the central upright part of the hat. I threaded the ribbon through, up the left side, around the front of the brim and down the right side. You can tie the
