Green Eyelet top, dresses and clothes; Label Nutmeg from Morrisons. Dress of the day 416.

Green eyelet top in Morrisons. Photo by Angela Lansbury.   A green eyelet top caught my eye in Morrisons. I took a photo of it.  I did the shopping for what was on my list. I bought an extra item, hemming tape, iron on hemming tape. I thought, why bother adapting your old clothes, when you can buy something just right, off the shelf. At the exit, I thought, let me look at that photo of the green top. I went back and looked again.   I could see the items hanging on the hangers and one looked longer. I took it off the rack.  Which Garment Did I Buy And Why? I liked the garments either side of the green top. But when I held up my hand against the one on the right, I did not like it. The pattern was busy. The colours were muted.  The solid green top against my pale brown slightly suntanned skin looked stunning. Irresistible. Clothing Company Names, Labels and Brands

 I used to wonder why a company would choose a different brand name. Surely, if you buy from Marks & Spencer, or Sainsbury's, or Primark, that label tells you enough. Then I found out why they change brand names.  Some of these companies sell worldwide, although you might find more stores in their home country.  Update July 24 2023 Not only to they have different names for clothes for men, women, and children, sometimes for teens, for classic and modern, for businesslike and for sexy/disco wear, for luxury three piece lined clothes with double stitching and spare buttons for mother of the brides which are dry clean only, and for skimpy, light crop tops you can wash in a machine or wash by hand.
