People are living longer so more reach the age of Middle Age Spread. Immigration adds to the mix. You might have seen this green, sleeveless dress previously under the blue blouse, acting like a skirt.  The dress is under a blue jacket in post 478. The green dress is in post 480, about the silver necklace. Today I am wearing the dress over the blue blouse. My dress is so handy, goes with lots of blues. Does not crease. Good length. Slightly shaped, not baggy but loose enough to be comfortable. I wondered of Karen Millen was a made up or changed name. At first I kept typing Miller. Then I got to know the name. Karen Millen is a real person. Wiki told me the whole story. However, the washing instruction says: Made in the UK. 100% polyester Lining 100% polyester. Size 16. When you wash it, it dries quickly. Red Belt This time I wore a red belt, red sandals, to go with my red lipstick, all lively red. I intended this to contrast with other outfits based on the almost monochrome, neat all-green dress, featuring a green belt and brown shoes. Green Necklace & Ring The necklace which I have called green mother of pearl is probably abalone from New Zealand.  I added a green ring.  White Nail varnish My nail varnish is white which makes a change from red. I put it on the night before to be sure of being ready.. I needed to wear  a collar with it because I am on Zoom internet meetings, so I found a yellow silk blouse to co-ordinate with the top edge of the green linen-like dress. The fiber is called Ramie, which grows in Asia. The Dress The dress is a stiff, rough 100 per cent ramie fabric and creases. The colour is fabulous, bright green and yellow. (I have enhanced the colour slightly by editing it in the mobile phone using Auto.) Just sitting at my desk looking down at the skirt, the colour lifts my spirits.  The label says Davinci, size 10, 100% ramie, made in Hong Kong, sample, not to be sold. Maybe the assistant had not noticed the label.  Maybe they were selling it anyway. Maybe I saw it hidden on the back of a rack and it wasn't supposed to be sold but the assistant decided to sell it to me anyway.  Maybe I wanted the non sample half and the assistant wanted to make...

It protects me from insects.  Advantages of the Belt However, if I want to show off my bust or pull in the dangling sleeves or pull up the hem to avoid tripping over, the design includes a handy drawstring ribbon around the waist.  How The Belt Is Made The drawstring is made of the same fabric. A long strip, long enough to go around the waist. Add the length enough to tie in a bow with the two straight pieces hanging longer than the two circles. Turn the dress inside out and you can see the ribbon is held in place by a band of the same dress fabric, about the width of a ruler.
