Insect Bites Problem  I was bitten twice by insects, once on each leg. I was not outdoors, but sitting at my desk. Anti insect spray, and insect repellent, had not protected me. On holiday in New Zealand in late January and early February it is sumertime there, despite being winter when we left England. Escaping the cold British winter was one of the reasons for the timing of our trip. Insect Exposing Styles I found that sleeveless dresses, low necklines and short skirts exposed me to the annoyance of insects and the irritation and ugly marks of their bites. So for travelling to restaurants I wore a hooded (pink) anorak.  For eating outdoors, I carried in my large bag a long scarf (in co-ordinating turquoise to match the dress, or pink to match the anorak, or orange or pink or red to contast with the turquoise dress which I wore most evenings on holiday. On ebay I found an inexpensive citronella and lemon grass spray at 3.99 pounds sterling with free postage.
