Anti Mosquito Clothes post 499

On holiday in New Zealand in late January and early February it is sumertime there, despite being winter when we left England. Escaping the cold British winter was one of the reasons for the timing of our trip.

Insect Exposing Styles

I found that sleeveless dresses, low necklines and short skirts exposed me to the annoyance of insects and the irritation and ugly marks of their bites.

Insect Protection Clothes

Bolero jackets exposed my forearms. So for travelling to restaurants I wore a hooded (pink) anorak. 

For eating outdoors, I carried in my large bag a long scarf (in co-ordinating turquoise to match the dress, or pink to match the anorak, or orange or pink or red to contast with the turquoise dress which I wore most evenings on holiday.

Anti Insect Spray

In New Zealand on holiday the friends I stayed with had Bug Off anti insect spray.

On ebay I found an inexpensive citronella and lemon grass spray at 3.99 pounds sterling with free postage.

Period Pants from Marks & Spencer & More, post 345

Period pants from Savida. Pants, UK. In the USA they would be called underpants. They come in two colours, black or dark blue with a mottled effect. They are triple layer. Could be useful for hiking and travelling. Or when you have a cough.  A pack of three full briefs for fifteen pounds. I then googled period pants and found lots of results.  Marks Marks & Spencer do a pack of three containing three different colours, black, white and pink, for sixteen pounds.  They also do different absorbencies. The options range though light, heavy, and extra heavy. And more styles, such as pantaloon style, like short tight shorts coming half way down your thighs. Marks & Spencer coat reversed Post 409

If a coat has a label at the neck which shows, or one on the side seam, you could either cut it off or cover it with black ribbon sewn on. Some people, such as the royal family, are reputed to always include a funeral outfit in their packing in case it is needed. (I always pack a swimsuit, so as not to miss out, and an evening outfit, in case I get invited to a party or wedding or smart restaurant for dinner.)
