Dress of the day 493: DIY white collar, M&S top, Disney bag, black skirt made from converted trousers

The White Dickey/Detachable Collar I was looking for a white lace collar and came across an embroidered white item. I am not sure what it is. Was. A table napkin would be oblong, but this has curved edges. An antimacassar? The concave curve was just right for the neckline. I cut it in half and used one half for the front and one half for the back. But how to join the two halves across the shoulder? Two oblong pieces could be seamed. But curved edge? The answer was ribbons. Ribbons - which width? I could have used thin ribbons or wider ribbons. Wider ribbons in matching white would look more finished, like a solid garment. Thinner straps, like spaghetti straps look more summery, or evening-y, or sexy, or feminine. The edge curve would disappear over a wide strap, so I opted for narrow ribbon. Ribbons - which colour?
