 House outfit. Dressed to answer the door to deliveries. The house temperature is 24 degrees so I wanted something loose and cool. The Big Blouse In Bright Green From H &M of Sweden Bought in London Label XXL. I tried wearing it with a red belt to make it tighter, but that drew attention to my sagging bust, not lifted by a proper bra. No time to change the bra. Ditch the belt. Teeny Green Buttons Tiny matching bright green buttons, with four holes. Eight down the front. Two on each cuff. Plus one on each sleeve slit up from the cuff. Plus two spares. Total  14. The Malaysian Skirt Colour and Pattern The skirt is bright green, orange and yellow. It must have been too long for me, because I have cut the hem with pinking shears. The colour is gorgeous, but a bit overwhelming. However, when mostly hidden by the long blouse, it looks just right. A perfect match. Where did I buy the skirt? (I thought he would say, because blue is my favourite colour, or, it matches my suit.) He replied, "It's my favourite." I persisted, "Why do you like it?" I call it a dress because it is ankle length. My Taboos I must admit that twenty years ago I would never have bought an outfit featuring a wild animal. I did not like lions, tigers, snakes or snakeskin, or insects. I preferred plain colours and fancy collars to draw attention to my face and away from my body. Now, now that I am into taking full length photos, I look for eye-catching designs. Shock and Drama The dark colour of the design contrasting with the white background is the perfect complement to the wearer's dark hair. Made in Bangladesh. It has two spare buttons, one in each size. Seven buttons down the front placket. Two on each cuff. One smaller button fastening the slit up the wrist from the cuff. H & M started in Sweden and is now in many countries worldwide. H & M stands for Hennes and Mauritz. It is a man's shirt, in good condition, with long arms. I considered cutting off the cuffs to make a shorter flared sleeve. However, the geometric pattern is more rigid and suits the cuff.  It is a casual shirt, but not a feminine style, more practical. The cuff has a wide placket with one buttonhole, and a narrower one underneath with the button. I could use either one of them to make a tab. It is weeny.  It looked short. Never mind.  The Petticoat My white Laura Ashley petticoat with the pretty lacey crochet hem covers me up nicely. The white is a contrast with the red. Critics call it the blood and bandages look. Confession time. The zip has not done up at the back. Only half way up. What can I do? I can go back to the diet.  I had considered cutting off the top half and slitting the sides to make a dickey (misleadingly also called a false front, when the front is real but the rest of the garment is missing).  I also considered reversing the dress and wearing it open, like a jacket. I could remove the zip and slit the seam below.  But the see-through effect at the neck is then low at the back. At the front the fabric sits high, which might feel tight across the lo...

Let's look at what is on offer to you and me as consumers. 1 Buying Second hand Clothes  Ebay pioneered selling your old clothes or buying second hand cheaply online. 2 Buying From Charity Shops and donating to charity   In the UK after WW2 with make do and mend, we had jumble sales in church halls, with boy scouts collecting our old clothes and goods. More recently, we have charity shops in most high streets. Oxfam, St Luke's, Barnados, Cancer Researach, and many others.  The USA has thrift stores, consignment stores.
