The boss thought it was a good idea and ordered them for all of us at a company do." Originally the winter season character was dressed in green. The story goes that a department store, in the USA, or its advertising department, produced a Santa wearing jolly red, for a change. This was so popular that red became the company's colour, spread around the city, across the USA, and around the world. Russia has a Grandfather Frost in a different colour scheme, and can have a hat or red or blue or white. Shop Primark, the budget store, with branches in Harrow, London, and many other places. Colour light or pale salmon pink. Style, waterfall effect, no buttons nor fastening. A horizontal hanging ribbon across the inside neck, stops it falling off a hanger. The ribbon is satin effect, shiny on the face, matt on the reverse.  The sleeves are ribbed. It covered my ears, but not my neck.  I have a smart, warm red coat, but no hood. A bucket hat slides off, at least off my silky hair.  What should I do? I should do waht I have done before, add a scarf. A scarf tied on top looks untidy and keeps coming off. The useful thing to do is to dwe the scarf onto the hat. I looked in my winter scarf and glove compartment and found a red scarf. Soft. A bit dark. i found another red scarf, lighter, but not right. Then I found a rainbow scaarf. Very jolly. Brighter red. Will go with red as well as other colours. It was surpridingly easy to sew it on. I started from the back seam of the hat. I folded the scarf in two to find the mid point. The black jeans or trousers (UK England for what the Americans call pants) co-ordinate with the edging of the collar and the hat-band, which matches the dark hair. Red knitted cap from Damart. Lace is lovely.  The size was small and it also looked tiny. Most small items I tried on got stuck on the shoulders.  But this had a long zip at the back. You can reverse the dress and just try the arms. If the sleeves are too tight, you either cut them off or let them out. But how do you try it on? These sleeves were wide, no problem.  So I tried on the dress. To my surprise it fitted. A close fit. A perfect fit. A flattering fit. Like hand in glove. Super Sleeves Aren't those shaped sleeves divine! You have to lift your arms to show off the sleeves to best advantage in a photo. I was looking for broderie anglaise, called eyelet in Asia. I already have a white lace dress with co-ordinating, almost matching lace white wrap which has fringes. However, this dress suits me well. ...

Green Polo Shirt A polo shirt can also be called a golf shirt or a tennis shirt. The green polo shirt has short sleeves. 100% cotton. Woven green fabric.  White collar and placket. Five small pearly circular flat buttons with raised rim and four holes. One spare button on washing label. The washing label says: Dry clean recommended. Size M. (No breast pocket.) The tiny motif on the breast area is a gold animal, a cat or dog, back view, two ears, three legs and a tail. The animal has a teeny red bow on the neck. They have rigid support underneath and my pink one went mouldy.  I asked my Singaporean friend, Vicky, "What can I do?"  She said, "In Singapore it is so humid that everything goes mouldy.   Photo by Trevor Sharot. My dress of the day, 266, is an Anthony Sicari, three-piece outfit. The dress forms the skirt. Then you don the top. Finally the matching scarf.  Fabric The dress skirt is the patterned fabric all the way around from the waist. The top half of the so called dress looks like a slip. It is a very thin knitted fabric stretching one way horizontally over the bust. The label on the over-top says 75% acrylic and 25% nylon. Exclusive of trim.  The trim is the same fabric as the dress so it must be polyester, like the skirt of the dress. Top Style The top is unusually long. This is good for winter. The size is 14. The Dolman sleeves mean it fits any size. How to Wear A Scarf Because the front of the top has an off-centre diagonal pattern, you cannot hang the scarf in two long pieces down the front, nor even a knotted tie in the centre. Again, the contrast is a green screen backdrop. Here is is in orange. I was wearing it and plonked the big brim hat on top just to carry the bigger hat, but Liked the result. One hat, several impressions. I have this hat in red, orange, navy, and purple. First I bought the red. Then the orange. Then the yellow. Then the navy and purple. All elegant. Great purchases. The last one I bought was in pink and was not such a success. It had a  lurid shiny satin ribbon instead of vibrant but matt chiffon and was horrid.
