Blue Is Best
Blue is best if you have blue eyes. But brown eyed girls also wear blue. Author Catherine Lim met me for lunch in a slim royal blue dress. She looked terrific. (She always does.)

Eyelet used to be known in the UK as broderie Anglaise, which is French for English embroidery. Blue top bought via eBay. In a bundle of three eyelet tops. (The other tops and the bundle system are described in previous posts.)

How to Make Collars And Buttons Fasten Flat
If your collars spring up at the corners, you can order rounded collars, stand up collars, or button down collars. 

If the shirt or blouse or dress develops a gap between the top two buttons, you could add a press stud between the buttons. A small press stud is quick to sew on.

Advantages of Camisoles
Camisoles are often worn to conceal. They hide bra straps or bra fastening at the back or a bare midriff under a see-through blouse.  I am using the camisole to conceal cleavage.

Camisoles can colour. A camisole is useful to enhance or change the colour of a chiffon semi-transparent garment. Make a dark colour lighter. Make a light colour darker. Match up with accessories.

Red belt
The buckle has engraved the words Duyers & Co 1820. The back of the belt is black. A white label says genuine leather. You can wear the belt with the buckle reversed on its hinge. The prong is attached to the buckle and moves with it. Each hole in the buckle has a tiny slit on one side horizontally, to the hole.

White dickey
Tighten the elastic under the arms to be sure the front lays flat. If you are making your own dickey or false front from an old shirt, or an unwanted blouse, or a children's dress slit up the sides, you might want to add the elastic.

    Sweater embroidered with mock pearls matches my hat pinned with mock pearl brooches.  I had never worn this pale grey sweater  I thought pale grey was a boring colour and always opted for something brighter such as royal blue or bight red. Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours. Advantages and Disadvantages of Red and White Stripes I like red. It's fun. White can show dirt quickly.  Red and white is a bit restrictive. It will clash with patterns, only go with plain reds and whites. But under a table at dinner or on Zoom nobody else will notice. Nor will I. I will only feel them.
