The outfits were made in the USA. You see lots of them on Ebay, mostly from the USA, nowadays with high postage and even imort duty.   2 The orange and black dress with Bolero top I chose this on colour. I really wanted a long jacket, but that was not available in my chosen colour at the budget price.  When it arrived, the jacket looked crumpled and creased However, it looked okay when I tried on the outfit.  The label says cool wash, stretchy and all that. Good enough. The colour was great. Bright. vivid. A change from my usual red. But still a warm colour. Because the dress base colour is black, I can match it with lots of jackets and variations. Unlike plain balack, it does not look funereal. Nor am I outshone by some young thing dressed head to tow in a bright colour. Next posts are about the Temu Turquoise Outfit and the pale blue.

 Princess Diana wore a polkadot dress which was admired - and set the fashion. So did Kate. I picked out of my wardrobe (Americans say closet) a red polkadot blouse for day wear to a conference.   I took an existing dress as my template. I had an oblong piece of lovely fabric, black background. Shiny pattern. Evening-y.  "Where did it come from?" my husband asked. Fabric I wish I could remember. Maybe an offcut from Spotlight in Singapore. I went out to buy when I bought my sewing machine. Or the Oxfam shop or another charity shop in the UK. I wish I had listed the source. Not that it would help. I could not go back and get more fabric. The patterns and even the fabrics, the opportunities for offcuts, change all the time. But it would be interesting to know. Now I am wearing it, I find that it is stretchy. Maybe I bought it to make a wrap to go with a swimsuit.  My husband raises his eyebrows and shakes his head, "I don't have oblongs of fabric lying around."  He does.   Do you have any items of clothing which have different patterns on the inside. (Or linings?) Here's one I found. A picture is worth a thousand words. A picture was more effective in the old days. That was the case when Confucius said it, in an era when most people were illiterate. But this picture shows clearly how I achieved two totally different looks when I took off the top and it was inside out. I looked at it and thought, I wonder how that would look if I wore it inside out? The sewing around the neckline could be hidden by a scarf. If I had the etime and energy i could sew a soft black ribbon over it. Matt edging would create a casual look. Satin ribbon would suit a more glamorous evening look.  A jacket could concel the back of the neck, the shoulder seam and the sleeves. The only giveaway was the white label down the side seam.  Did I need them? Would I wash the garment with the frou frou front by hand anyway in water which was not too hot? I would not use bleac...
