Anthony Sicari Outfit and Union Jack Hat for a speech contest Dress of the Day 625

 



Anthony Sicari Outfit
The Anthony Sicary outfit consists of a tknitted white top with a pleated skirt. I wanted the lively pattern of the red, white and blue and green to look lively and smart when I was on stage. 

The Top
The sleeves are short, so I wore a white long-sleeved blouse underneath. 
For added warmth, I added blue mock velvet track suit trousers, over red and black leather boots.

The Boots
The boots are wide acrooss the toe, like Crocs.This pair is red, with heart shaped leaves like petals arranged in a circle to make a flower on the toe. I have one pair with dark red, and red and black flowers, The other is black with read and black flowers.

Union Jack Hat
The Union Jack hat came from St Luke's charity shop in Hatch End, north west London. But the place to buy these is from party shops. You can buy lots of items of clothing and souvenirs with Union Jacks in souvenir shops and kioks in central London.

The Flags Of Italy and Switzerland
The flags were detached from a long string of bunting, oblong or tiangular flags on a string or ribbon to be hung around a room, or outdoors in summer. 
The flags were hung from my wast as a prop for my humorous speech on languagues and lost in translation. The flags were a memory aid for me as well as a prop for my speech, about English and other languages, including MAericanisms causing confusion to tourist like me from the UK visiting the USA.

The Certificate
I am holding my certificate for third place in the contest.  
Holding a certificate in a photo is challenging. You have to hold the certificate level, horizontal. You should not cover the text or vital pictures with your finger. 

Mail Varnish To Contrast Or Co-Ordinate
You might want to wear co-ordinating nail varnish to look neat as your nails may show up against the white of the certificate.

Do you want to match your skin colour, or your clothes, or your lipstick and accessories?
I chose white nail varnish. Less distracting if it gets chipped than a darker colour which would be visible against my 'white' skin. Coloured ail varnish would be more dramatic and attentin getting, such as red, if I wanted my gestures to be obvious.

Survival Clothes and Kits For Holidays, Home & Away post 510

I read in the news today that the French have issued instructions on preparing a survival kit for householders.  Convenient Carry Bag Your house should have a bag you can carry, or sling in a car. Your handbag or tote bag or holdall should have a few essentials. When hiking I wear clothes with pockets and have a rucksack with have pockets water, food and sting relief, and insect repallent, and maps and phone numbers. I also put the hospital nubers in my phone. Survival Kit Everybody should have a survival kit by their door, as well as a first aid box in the bathroom and a burns kit in the kitchen. Also clothes! Japanese The Japanese are reputed to keep survival kit by the door. Why? In case of earthquakes. Travellers should have a first aid kit. In their suitcase or bag. And in cars. Plus spare clothes. Marks & Spencer coat reversed Post 409

If a coat has a label at the neck which shows, or one on the side seam, you could either cut it off or cover it with black ribbon sewn on. Some people, such as the royal family, are reputed to always include a funeral outfit in their packing in case it is needed. (I always pack a swimsuit, so as not to miss out, and an evening outfit, in case I get invited to a party or wedding or smart restaurant for dinner.)
