Are You A Shopping Addict?

Today yet another item arrived in the post for me. What was it? It was small. A scarf. Low cost. I have half a dozen items in my watch lists on ebay. Different colours, sizes, all with this month's trend, passion, serrated edges. Inexpensive vests and tops, a dress, jackets. Should I ask for one for my birthday?

Let's admit it. I am addicted. Every day I look at ebay, pay for anything which I bid on, or made an offer on. I see in whatsapp what is about to be delivered. I am inundated by notifications. Ebay tells me you one. Ebay tells me pay now Ebay tells me you have paid. Paypal tells me you have paid. Royal mail tells me I have a tracking number.

Each one makes me go back on line.

I can't walk past a sale sign. Or a Marks, or a supermarket with clothes.

How do you control your Budget?

1 Have a dry January. - Impossible - that's when the sales are on.

2 Postpone purchases.

3 Buy small items, such as scarves, ear-rings, zips.

4 Limit yourself to one item a day.

5 Sell your old clothes. Wrong size, wrong season. Buy with your income from sales.

5 Have a weekly budget.

6 Have a daily budget. Eg buy a coffee, or put five pounds into a list in a diary o notebook page on amounts spent on clothes, and the budget. Or have an imaginary or real piggy bank. Add money, pictures of money, or promise to pay myself notes.

7 Ask for large items as birthday or New Year presents.
