Black and white and red Anthony Sicari outfit 702 by Angela Lansbury.

Anthony Sicari Black And White Jacket

The jolly jacket is a vintage item. The label reveals that it is from Anthony Sicari, one of my three vintage favourites. (Anthony Sicari, Ann Balon and Indigo Moon. Plus, Marks and Spencer, for both modern and vintage clothes.)

But Anthony Sicari has two or three collections. I have some saying Anthony Sicari Evening. This item has a label saying Anthony Sicari New York.  Sicari is Italian for a sword, dagger or similar slicing knife.

How To Identify Vintage Clothes

Often the name of the manufacturer on the label tells you. The label on the back of the neck of a blouse or jacket, or the back of the waist on a skirt. If that has been cut off, you might find a washing instruction label on the inside seam of a shirt or skirt with the company name small at the end.

You might guess this jacket's era from the padded shoulders.

The Brass Buttons

I thought it had four buttons. Metal buttons.

They are probably brass buttons, I guessed from the description of  another seller's item on Ebay, gold effect.

I thought it had four because it has only four which you do up in the four buttonholes. But looking at the photo I could see it had eight.  Four more are merely decorative.

The Cute Collar, Collar Lining and Heavy Fabric

The collar design is what makes this outfit distinctive. The jacket is black with a contrasting white collar. The collar is lined and the lining comes down to the hem. However, I was surprised, slightly disappointed, that the jacket is not entirely lined. It feels heavy and which, was my reason for selecting it to travel by bus on a cold day in February in London, England.

Anthony Sicari Black & Red Top

Anthony Sicari. Black with 5 red roses with green leaves applique around the neck.

Beautiful Blouse Fabric Of Silky Cupro

Red. Feels like sand washed silk. 100 % cupro. that is vegan silk, made from cotton, and cheaper.
Label BS Collection,

Beautiful Blouse Buttons

Six small flat buttons down the front, actually slightly curved, with an almost oval indent pointed at both ends.

On each cuff are not the same buttons but slightly larger buttons with a red centre and fancy metal edge.

Schneberger Gruppe Classic Clothes
Vintage. I found blouses, jackets, long jacket or coats, dresses and skirt suits, with this label on ebay at prices from affordable seven pounds to twenty pounds and upwards. Some were plain colours. If you wanted bright colours, they had some in yellow. Although I saw nothing like my jolly all over red, if you want a touch of red and contrasting colours, a few had busy patterns like a mosaic of different colours.
The name berger means person from a berg or mountain. This ending comes from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Schne could be a variation on schnee which means snow. That might help you to remember or recognize the company name and to type it correctly. Not to be confused with burger with the unlaut or double dot over the u, which means a citizen or city dweller.

The word gruppe is German, meaning group, feminine. Similar to the English word, also the Italian gruppo. Spanish, as usual simplifies the spelling, eliminating double letters, to grupo.
