Dress of the day 210. Balcony, broom, green Goodwill tank top, sleeves and cape with cats and culottes.

Green top's label is Goodwill.

Why do I have this open mouth, gasping, Marilyn Monroe sexy look?
Because I have to look up when wearing my spectacles to avoid the reflections in the glasses.

If I don't look up this is what happens.

How To Recycle A Child's Outgrown Outfit
I had rescued ready to recycle a set of child's skirt with attached leggings. I thought it would make a cape with sleeves. I had done that before. You can leave the elastic waist intact for your neck. I have done this before, successfully. Cut upwardsfrom the base of the skirt. Cut up one side of a seam so the edge is already seamed neatly on one side.

This garment was much smaller. I had to cut the elastic.

However this time the seams were not neatly in the centre. I ended up with an asymmetrical cape. I know. You know. My husband never noticed.

Tricks and Tips on Night Portrait Photography
He was more concerned with taking the photo in daylight, but not having the light behind me and none in front. Our first photos showed me as a sihouette. Face dark, in shadow. You can increase the light when editing on a phone, but the picture was not sharp.

So he fetched a spotlight. I can't look continuously into a spotlight. It is unpleasant, It makes me shut me eyes, which will spoil the photo. I am anxious about damaging my eyes so I frown.

The solution is for him to get the camera ready. while I look away or shut my eyes.  Then he calls, "One, two, three!"

I took a close up selfie to show the Goodwill green top.

Goodwill Garments
I was under the impression that Goodwill was the American name for what they also call a thrift store, but it is the business name of a charity in the USA and other countries. You can read about its history and policies on Wikipedia. The story has lots of elements which I like. Saving the planet from thrown away clothes. Employing the challenged. Recycling items.  Repairing to recycle.
