263 Blue instant starburst outfit.

Do you believe in recycling? Somebody threw this blue fabric away. It was a mat with a torn cover. Of course I washed it in the shower. I took the torn cover off the mattress or exercise mat and cut the material. I cut off the torn parts and trailing threads. I tried the fabric in four directions to see which way the pattern went.

Ready to go. I had enough material for two garments, a long dress and a jacket or top. One part had a zip.

I took the simpler part without the zip. I cut a slit for the neck. I added a ribbon belt. From my sets of ribbons I selected a matching colour.  Instant new outfit.

What next? Add a blue hat and umbrella.

The black lace collar is a dickey. A pretend shirt, just a collar and a bib with elastic under both arms supposed to keep the collar straight. Not really straight. But the picture will have to do.

You can find lots of the simple clip on collars or longer dickeys on Ebay. They mostly come from China.

The black lace edge slip or underskirt adds length. The black slip matches the black colour of the collar. The dress pattern has some black. Also four shades of blue and yellow.

The ribbons come from Daiso and Spotlight. I have lots of ribbons.
