Buttons
What are the main features of cowboy or cowgirl shirts? The snap buttons. Never lose a button. Never have to sew on a button. No loose buttons. No need to reinforce loose buttons.
Quick to put on. Quick to take off - and check the label for you.
At last the diet is working, weight 49.5 kg, size 12 down from 16-18, and I can wear vintage clothes which have sat in the wardrobe for a decade.
Cuff Snap Buttons
Not two snap buttons, but three on the cuff, four if you include the one on the slit from the cuff up the inside sleeve.
Pocket closure
Two pockets, both secured with snap button closure. Neat. Not gapping and sagging.
Nothing can fall out and break. Nothing can fall out and get lost. Nothing can get taken unnoticed by light fingers.
Pockets
Not one but two pockets. Symmetrical. No lop-sided look. No, we could not afford a second pocket look. More space to put things.
Label
Ranch House Western Wear.
I regret that I found a few places in various countries selling clothes, called variations on Ranch, but cannot be sure of having found the company which made this garment.
Sleeves
Sleeves can be sleeveless, short sleeved, or long sleeved.
Word Search
The words to search for are: Embroidered cowgirl shirt. Line dancing. Snap button. Pearl snap. Snap closure. Press down closure, Ranch, Western apparel.
I found something similar from Walmat at 42.97 dollars (US dollars?) plus about 5 postage. Corboy shirt, size 2 XL American size, From brand, Ely Cattleman.
Snap closure, the cheapest was about 10 dollars, short sleeve, no pockets, charcoal grey, but one reviewer said the snaps were poor quality and two already broken.
Cowboy and cowgirl shirts come with any of these features, contrast colour yoke, double pockets, triple button cuffs. plaid pattern, metal tip collars, fringes across the yoke, embroidery on the yoke, motifs of horses or cattle or cowboy boots or cowboy hats.
Other brands to look for which make clothes with pearl snap closure: Authentic Ranchwear, Cowboy Code, Cowboy Legend, Crazy Cowboy, Ely Cattleman, Hollister, J C Penny, Levis, Roper, Wrangler.
That Hat
I bought several cowboy hats. I have pink. I have white. Plain. Sequinned. The fancy dress hats were perfectly good and great prices. The only thing to watch for is that in high winds, or when line dancing, you need to fasten your hat. I bought hat elastic.
BOOTS
You can line dance in boots or shoes. Don't wear open toed shoes if you are a beginner. I did that and turned the wrong way or didn't turn fast enough. Somebody trod on my toes with their heeled boots. Ouch! I was out for the evening. In fact, I never went back to line dancing. So I suggest that to protect yourself you wear boots with reinforced toes.
