Brolly is British English for umbrella.

Green Skirt
The skirt is actually an underskirt, for sarees, ordered from India. Heavy cotton with a drawstring of multi-plaited white rough string. Small pleats are around the hem. I ordered this style in two shades of green. Through ebay. You can see the petticoat with a different top, a totally different effect, in dress 340 with a greeny blue top.

Price just under ten Singapore dollars, about twice the cost of the similar underskirts from Mustaf Centre in Singapore, where the current price (April 2022) is about 4.95 Singapore dollars.

The Straight Neck tie
The straight edged neck tie in green was cut off the hem of a dress which was too long. The hem was getting caught under my shoes' toes as I walked. And dragging on the ground getting dirty. After I shortened, I had the bonus strip of green fabric to match the dress as a belt, or other green outfits.

The Green Umbrella
I started co-ordinating this outfit with the new green umbrella. Next I found the skirt and tank top which were already hanging together on a hanger. The necktie was a surprise as I turned over offcuts on the sewing table as I tidied up. The green is not the same, but it seems to go.

The light shining through the umbrella changes the colour. The umbrella's shade of green no longer matches the clothes. The umbrella, when taken in the light, would go better with white clothes which would co-ordinate with the pattern of circles on the umbrella and the light and airy atmosphere.

However, my husband, who took the photo, was pleased with the light through the umbrella. No point in arguing with the photographer about the photograph. Especially as the purpose of changing clothes every day is to keep him amused. As they say, variety is the spice of life.

The umbrellas in Valu$ are always in at least three colours. Often short folding umbrellas as well as the longer ones. I used to look at them in the branch near Changi airport, one stop further into the city.  Currently, April 2022, the Valu$ shop branch in the Nex shopping centre is showing these colours.

The Green Socks
The Green socks come from Valu$. I bought from the branch in Nex above Serangood MRT underground railway station in Singapore. The socks were 2.50 Singapore dollars for one pair. Five pairs for ten dollars, which works out at two dollars each. So I bought 5 pairs. The brand is Socksy. One size. The washing instructions say,

Green Hair Bow
The green hair bow is from my stock. I have one in a light colour and one darker.

When you read that the company is called value dollar you will remember how to spell the name and say it, not values - but without as e, which was confusing me at first. Think of value for you. Val - u - dollar or $

The holding company has about 70 stores in Singapore and plans to have a hundred. They are all over Singapore.
