Many swimsuits and bras have shoulder pads and bra pads which are removable. 

How to Remove A Bra Pad

Many bra pads can be inserted and removed through a slit, at one side. If your pad slips sideways or folds in half, you can reach in and move it. 

You can also remove it, if it disintegrates. 

Or if you want a light weight garment or your garment is too tight.

I removed a flat pad above. I was thinking, what a pity they did not provide two pads in different sizes, or sell the garment with a choice of shapes of pads, or ...? 

Check Bra Pad Material?

I have had other bra or swimsuit pads which were like plastic netting. But this pad was soft. Like a thick, very firm sponge.

Change Size

Ironically, a circle of fabric is flat, but as you cut out slices, although the circumference gets smaller, the height and shape of the dome gets larger. The cut item is likely to have a point. You can remove the point by cutting it, folding it in, or making a drawstring around a small circular hold.

How To Cut The Pad?

But this sponge looked as if it could be cut. I could cut out a triangle, like a slide out of a cake. I was pinching it to see how big a slice I needed. Or maybe, just cut a slit and overlap the two cut sides. Then, if it didn't work, I could sew it back together again.

Guess Size?

No good just looking at it and trying to guess. Hold it against your body. Alternatively, lay it inside a bra which has bra cups the right size, bearing in mind that the pad will take up space.

If you want to buy replacements, some are silicon, others are sponge in fabric.

What is this? My repair.  I have a lovely shiny, smart black slip, from Marks & Spencers. It has a slit with pretty lace edging.  But it is slightly tight. What to wear for a funeral? A black funeral coat from Marks & Spencers Outfit 291

The invitation said nothing about the dress code.  I know lots of funerals nowadays people were mixed colours. Some specify wearing jolly colours. My friend at the funeral told me, "Always wer black. Unles it specifies otherwise, the rule is, wear black." I had my usual blue anorak with the hood with me. I left it in the car. In the boot of the car, in case anybody broke into the car hoping to find money in the pockets or because they wanted a coat to wear or sell. The safest thing is to leave a completely empty car. At least everything in the boot so the car looks empty. I could have kept the blue anorak in my black tote bag. I always found they had small size clothes, and were pracical as well as pretty, and keenly priced. Mine is vintage. Probably from st Luke's in Hatch End in NW London.
