The Elegant Knitted Black Coat

The coat is long and knitted with built-up, padded shoulders. It is thick and warm.

I wore the coat over a co-ordinating warm black and red knitted top. The brand is one of my two favourites, Anthony Sicari. His clothes have batwing sleeves. Handy for going over blouses. His garments fit you whether you are small or large.

The Skirt

The skirt is the green part of a suit by Ann Balon. That is my other favourite brand. I bought two suits. Both cost a lot although they were second hand. I was disappointed because the colour had faded and they looked a bit shabby. However, they are warm, co-ordinated top and skirt which saves time. The green colour is not my favourite, which is a warm colour such as bright red, wine red, or pink, or orange. However, green makes a change from black. Isn't that what fashion and clothes are all about. Dress for the occasion. Be practical. Look pretty. Feel something new is happening. See something new each day. Show something new each time to enhance and entrance. Entertain your family, friends and colleagues.

The Footwear - Gold Slippers

The Blouse

Why did I want a blouse? A white cotton or similar shirt collar looks more professional and smart than the round neck of a knitted garment. 

The shirt is worn for the same reason nowadays as it was in olden times. White shows the dirt so you know when it is dirty and needs washing. The washed white looks bright and clean. 

The high collar frames your face, draws attention to your chin and lips and smile. (Away from your bust.) The white or light colour echoes your white teeth and eyes. 

A thin shirt is smaller to stick in the laundry bag than a bulky winter jumper. It dries quicker. If you are lucky it drip dries so you don't need to iron it. You can hang it over the bath. Woollen pull out of shape on hangers. They need to be laid flat.    

The blouse is by Erfo Jeunesse. The company is German, family owned. You can see vintage Erfo blouses on Etsy. Etsy says they are 1980s.

Modern ones on other websites. The prices I saw were about a hundred pounds, reduced to half price in sales,with reductions when you give the website your email so they can send you more offers.

I didn't see anything as elegant as my blouse which has three fold down pleats, as well as a V shape front section around the placket which is the reinforced, central, vertical, double strip with the buttons and buttonholes..

Plain colour blouses 80 Euros. I thought they were Dutch, from the language, but they are Belgian, in the Dutch speaking half of Belgium, near Germany. I did not see an option for translating into English, but, after I had been on the website a couple of minutes, up popped an offer from Google translate to translate.

(The websites are watching you! I don't mind. If it means they will translate into my currency, my shipping country or my language, all the better.) Useful website says that the Erfo company policy is to offer elegant clothes in lasting fabrics in a range of sizes. Based in Belgium. Delivers outside Belgium for a higher cost.

Warning about beads

A beaded cardigan is glamorous. I thought it was warm, so I would sit around in it all day. However, at lunch time, when I stood up, I found one large bead and one tiny one on my chair. 

So I decided to wear a housecoat instead.
