Angela with a seasonal toy rabbit, dress 576 - rabbit bracelets and co-ordinating

When Chinese New Year meetings were held online on Zoom for Toastmasters International speakers' clubs, I thought I should keep a prop handy. My first thought was a mask. That is an item of clothing or accessories. Everyone can relate to wearing that.

Then I thought, it was the year of the rabbit. How about a drawing of a rabbit, or download a picture of a rabbit and print it off.

Did I have a rabbit toy or puppet? I have lots of soft toys and puppets. I hunted around and, sure enough, I had a rabbit. Inface I had thre. I selected one which was just the right size. No too small to see. Just right.

Rabbits
I had a soft toy rabbit which I kept on my desk in case I had an opportunity to speak about it during Chinese New Year.
On Saturday 28th January I was in a Zoom meeting of a Toastmasters Group for training speakers, Braddell Heights 2. I had been invited to be the Language Evaluator. The table topics (impromptu speeches of 1-2 minutes)  were on the theme of Chinese New Year. The table topics master had pictures of the CNY themes.

I started, "I love Chinese New Year!"
I held up my rabbit puppet.
I won the vote for the award for Best Table Topics.

I went online looking for rabbit toys. I set my search to lowest price to high, so the cheapest, smallest items, bracelets, came up first.
I was impressed that some of them had gold plated rabbit charms.
Amazon has lots of red bracelets with gold colour or gold plated charms. At under ten dollars each bracelet. For example

I would wear two, one on each wrist, for a balanced look. If you talk with one hand, you might like one attention getting bracelet in red on your right hand. If you are right-handed. If you use both hands when speaking, two bracelets, so you don't have one hand distracting from the other, looking lopsided. I like to co-ordinate the jewellery on both hands or wrists.

You wear nail varnish on both hands. You have matching cuffs on both hands. Follow through.

The rabbit is the Chinese zodiac sign which will stay topical all year. The rabbit is also a feature of Easter time. The rabbit is a symbol of spring. A leftover from pre-christian pagan times. But we have held onto this symbol of fecundity, breeding like rabbits. As the saying goes, if you can't beat them, join them.  We shall soon be seeing more and more chocolate rabbits, covered with gold foil, in the supermarkets.
