You can buy these or similar ones on ebay, Amazon and Shein. The fancy patterns smarten up a plain tee shirt or winter jumper if you are on Zoom or out and about The pattern  on the collar clashes if you have a patterned top, so you need a plain one as well. Sometimes the supplier is out of stock of white. A black one is sometimes suitable for evenings.

If black looks to funeral, you can find one with fancy coloured beads.

I like to have one with sleeves or cuffs to match, which is more expensive.

You can make your own from an old shirt which is too small or too large, and from a child's dress which they have outgrown.

DIY Collar
If you are a nifty sewer, you can take a shirt with a frayed or stained collar, cut off the part which turns down and make a stand-up Mandarin collar with curved front edges. If your sewing it not neat or the cut edge is frayed, sewing on a ribbon edge might work for you. or sticking on a ribbon, with iron on fabric. 

DIY Bow Tie Or Bow
One which ties in a bow could be left unattached for the last inch so there is no stitching, and the bow hides the stitching. Alternatively, add a bow tie on elastic, or sew down a bow so the sides are the same, attach it one side of the collar by sewing, but it must be left open to get the collar over your head, so attach the other side invisibly with a press stud.

What is this? My repair.  I have a lovely shiny, smart black slip, from Marks & Spencers. It has a slit with pretty lace edging.  But it is slightly tight. Blue H & M Dress, dress of the day 393

But I had a white blouse, so I wore this. On the internet and on Facebook you can see lots of videos of how to tie a scarf, but mine is simply hanging, which partly obscures the cleavage.  Cleavage cover I had a choice. To insert a dickey or false front, also called a removable or detachable collar. I have one or two which are plain white.  The alternative which saves hunting for a matching dickey without distracting collar colours and embrodiery, is simply to add a fastening. I decided that a snap or press stud fastener in small size is qhich to fasten and unlikely to pull apart (as opposed to hook and eye. Period pants from Savida. Pants, UK. In the USA they would be called underpants. They come in two colours, black or dark blue with a mottled effect. They are triple layer. Could be useful for hiking and travelling. Or when you have a cough.  A pack of three full briefs for fifteen pounds. I then googled period pants and found lots of results.  Marks Marks & Spencer do a pack of three containing three different colours, black, white and pink, for sixteen pounds.  They also do different absorbencies. The options range though light, heavy, and extra heavy. And more styles, such as pantaloon style, like short tight shorts coming half way down your thighs.
