Blue blouse with big, bold, buttons dress of the day 341

The Blouse
The blue blouse is labelled Global Kiwis. You can turn it inside out and keep the pockets concealed on the inside and be less conspicuous.

The buttons
The big buttons are a thin mother of pearl. The iridescent blue, white and pink co-ordinates with the colours of the blue blouse,. The blouse has a dark blue background with white and paler blue with touches of red to pink. The pattern is a cross between leaves and fish skeleons, leafy or nautical.
In the light the colours look like turquoise. The fabric is thick cotton, daytime. But the buttons take you through to the evening.

The buttonsy\ have two holes. They are sewn on with black thread.

The waist has a drawstring belt made of the same fabric.
I love the large pockets. The elft pocket had a strong wide toothed plastic zip. But the right hand pocket has no zip.
The surprise is that you can fasten a blouse securely with only three buttons and three buttonholes.

Adding A Zip
I am adding a zip. Even if I am not carrying credit cards or a phone or money or a passport or anything valuable, it is a nuisance if you drop a pen, or  lipstick or paper tissues, or a notebook. A zip also stops you from standing with your hands in your pockets. Of course that is the disadvantage. I like to be able to put my hands in my pockets. Maybe that was the idea. One pocket to hold your possessions securly. The other pocet  for wuick aceess to a hankie, or just a space, a place to put your hand.

I bought the zips in St Luke's charity hop in London. You can buy sets of the same colour zips in several sizes, mostly large sizes.

I searched online for Global Kiwis. I foud one item had alreaady been sold on Etsy but the listing was still visible.  The seller said it was a 1980s item.

The Blue Jacket
The blue hooded jacket is the label Canda from C & A. Sizw. The hood attaches with five see through buttons. Under the contrast darker collar.
C & A started in the Netherlands. It is now multinational. I used to shop there in the sixties partly because they had affordable clothes and sections labelled five foot two and under. That was odd because the Netherlands is known for tall women and men.
