Sleeveless dress and long matching jacket outfit 486

I had been looking a long time for a long dress and a matching long jacket - at a reasonable price.
At last one came up.
When it arrived I was initially taken aback, that the jacket was so flimsy. The fabric is very thin, lightweight, almost transparent.
Only three quarter length sleeves. Not much protection against evening sea breezes, nor air conditioning, nor mosquitos.
Three quarter length sleeves are ideal for young people indoors in the evening after dusk and at night. You can show off bracelets. Shorter sleeves are cooler and in tropical climates. So long as you are indoors away from insects, or sprayed with insect repellent.
You might think a shorter sleeve allows more attention for multiple bracelets, Indian style, and rings and painted nails or fake fingernails. You might think that a longer sleeve draws more attention to the hands. Do you wish to co-ordinate and blend in with the local short sleeved bolero in India, or the covered up clothes in conservative countries you are living in or visiting on holiday?
Or are you happy to stand out? Are you glad to be different, a proud, welcomed, VIP, customer in a glamorous restaurant? Or speaker or honored guest, or paying guest, at a conference or other event?
My husband often tells me, "You don't need to dress up. It's only a hiking holiday." Or, he says, "It's just a fish and chip supper." Or, "They are not a dressy crowd."
I've been caught out, without the clothes I wanted to wear. At the event the PR or hostess is wearing a wonderful outfit. I choose to sit opposite the one well-dressed person in the room and we talk about her pretty outfit. I wished I had worn mine, or was glad that I did.

However, as usual, I found that the purchased product had enough advantages to make it a useful extra. Finally, a favourite.
What do I like about it? Firstly, the jacket is lightweight and compresses for packing.
Secondly, it comes out of the plastic bag where it has been crushed, innocently crease-free. No ironing is needed.
Shein has dozens of dresses with matching short jackets. Shein also has long coats, sometimes called duster coats. Duster coasts were thin coats to keep the dust off.
