Dress of the Day with Angela: 5 Beach Brollies and black mask. Pink folding cap.
Parasols preceded umbrellas. Sunshades are needed as often as umbrellas in sunny Singapore. What's with the funereal black mask?
July 1st 2020. You can see that in Singapore we were issued with black re-usable masks. We are allowed to start using the swimming pool again, for the first time since early February or March when the use of swimming pools was banned.
I was standing under a parasol over the table by the condo swimming pool.
The Pink Folding Neck-Covering Cap
The pink hat is a fold-up hat you can keep in your pocket, as you can see from the lines down the stiff brim. The back is a lightweight and snap on and off neck covering to shield you from the sun, protect from sunburn, keep cool. protect you from prying glances, to hide your hair, to keep off flies.
The balcony has protective railings - one of the reasons for choosing this flat rather than another in the same condo, which has several blocks, with 12 or 16 floors, each with four units.
The multi-colour umbrella is mine. taken against the light, showeded the colour of the umbrella but I was in shadow.
You have a half chair distracting on the right.
Photo by Trevor Sharot, edited and cropped by Angela Lansbury. Amusing captions: Seas the day.Life's a beach. You are my sunshine. raindrops keep falling on my head.
Another later photo shows me in the dress, full length, a sleeveless caftan which I have worn over a short sleeved top. This time the umbrella's true colours are shown, although I prefer the colours with the light behind the umbrella.
I discovered on my mobile phone the icon for cutting out the background and showing only the rea encircled.
What's in it for me, the reader?
Lessons Learned
1 Get out and about for privacy and a change of background.
2 If you are stuck at home, stand in the light, by a window or balcony.
Don't stand against the light.
Check the photo.
3 Use the cutting device on your phone to get rid of background. Why? Eliminate litter, distracting half objects, unwanted people, a messy office, personal items at home for security.
