His New York tee-shirt shows a scene from New York and the lettering NYC, for New York City. Why do they bother to state the word city? Because New York City is in New York state. 
 
These photos show student Shehan in his favourite yellow tee-shirts which his mother buys for him in the markets of Sri Lanka. V-necks, round necks, they all look good. A great contrast against his dark hair. I bought tee-shirts from indoor market stalls in Singapore near the MRT station. I bought one, after being torn between three which I liked. The seller offered me a second at a reduced price. 

I learned from this that it is worthwhile trying to bargain in Asia. Whether or not they show prices.

Poses

My view on poses is this:

1 looking at the viewer is more engaging. However, if you want to focus on the clothes rather than the person you might want to have a neutral expression or even only part of the face or a back view.

Websites selling clothes, such as Shein, often show the back of a garment, especially if it has attractive features, such as a low back, or if the buyer might think they are getting a whole garment and be upset to find no back!

2 Open arms are more welcoming than closed arms. 
Besides - you show the clothes to their advantage.

 I only cross my arms to show my cuffs or to conceal something. What? On the garment, a stain, or tear, or distracting pattern, or crease in the clothes. On myself as a model, a fat tummy, or lack of nail varnish, or jewellery I want to hide. 

3 Background

What does the background say about you? Greenery can suggest you are a nature lover.  

Taking a photo in a public place is a way of avoiding showing your rich, poor or cluttered home. You might wish to conceal your home for security reasons. It might not be permitted to use your workplace for photos.

Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours. Advantages and Disadvantages of Red and White Stripes I like red. It's fun. White can show dirt quickly.  Red and white is a bit restrictive. It will clash with patterns, only go with plain reds and whites. But under a table at dinner or on Zoom nobody else will notice. Nor will I. I will only feel them.
