How To Make Seasonal hats with red, white and green headbands for greeting cards and seasonal slides
The Red and White Clothes - Caftans
I started creating the ensemble with a red top. If you are looking for caftans, try also spelling with a K, kaftan.
Cape Blazers
The white is a cape blazer which has open front sleeves showing the red top.
Baseball Caps
Then I added a white brimmed baseball cap. I had to hide the words on it, advertising the source, Espana (advertising Spain).
A red swimming hat or turban hat goes over the dome of a baseball cap to hide the writing or distracting logo. I have several posts on the Turban hats. i have them in several colours, red, yellow.
The headband sits on top. I now have an original seasonal hat, instead of the conventional Santa, something unique.
Table Decoration
On my dining table I had a table decoration of seasonal winter fir greenery with white snow tips a red and white bow. Just the right thing.
It did not have a safety pin or brooch. However, I could easily tuck it in to my neckline.
Right up against my neck, it felt scratchy. However, fine for one minute for a photo.
To Make A Seasonal Brooch
If I wanted to wear the decoration longer, like a brooch, I would attach a safety pin. I could pin it lower, with the soft bow against my neck and the spiky greenery lower down.
Green Background Choices
Where to find a green background? My green screen! Behind the desk in my home office.
You can buy two types of green. The proper green screen has a rigid wire or wooden edge to keep it flat. That costs more.
A cheaper, thinner large piece of green cloth, without side support, for photo backgrounds, is just a large green sheet. It is liable to hang in folds. As you see, you have to find a way of fastening the sides.
Just hanging it over an expending curtain or shower curtain rail, as I have done, leaves you with creases as it does not hand straight. You could add another rod across the bottom, and/or supports at the side. I did not have the needed items nor the time. Also I was not sure that the curtain rail at the top, stretched between two cupboards, could support the extra hardware. Also I needed to move the curtain intermittently to reach the cupboards behind it.
How You Can Use Your Photos
You can use your seasonal photos for
1 Printed greeting cards.
2 Email greeting cards.
3 Framed family photo seasonal gifts for the home or overseas family.
4 Posters for events.
I took several photos of myself, selfies, and chose my favourite for my poster advertising my workshop on seasonal blogs.
In Powerpoint, which comes in a bundle with Microsoft Word, I found that under design I could move through the colour options. I found a red edge to the slide. Voila!
