Hello Cheese Dress of the day in orange 360


 

I looked through my sewing cupboard and found some doubly rejected clothes. Rejected by the former owners. Some of these items were found by me, then rejected a second time, by me, and put into my sewing cupboard.  There I store bits and pieces, cut up, stained, odd clothes, which I had intended to use as patches.

However, I am now more tolerant of outlandish patterns. I think the public perception of what is suitable has changed. You now see adult women carrying teddy bears, and wearing mascots. Disney characters which would once have been considered suitable only for children as well as children's books are treasured by adults. Alice in Wonderland, or Pooh Bear images, adults express a liking for them and wear clothing with quotations and illustrations.

I happily donned a cartoon character with the motto Hello Cheese. The label is Yelna. 

What does the text mean? Hello - is attention getting. 

Cheese? The pattern contains no cheese image. Cheese is what you say when you want somebody to widen their mouth in a smile for a photo. The text remains a mystery. Maybe you can solve it for me. Meanwhile, let's look at the pattern and colours.

Matching Orange And Other Colours

The white tee-shirt has a predominantly orange patter. The cartoon is in two shades of orange, dark and paler, plus black and white with some cyan blue. The round neck and short sleeves are edged with matt pale orange, almost coral colour ribbon. 

The little girl in the picture has an outsize head and a hat. She has several bows and orange in the hair bows. Her ears have five point stars in blue.

I am wearing dark orange Croc or Croc style chose.

My hat is orange.

My solo cup and saucer set is glassware from Thailand. It is not suitable for dishwashers.

I edited the photo on my Samsung mobile phone using the crop feature Ailand posterize which throws in patches of colour.

On Facebook I featured this photo and asked for comments or captions. Jane replied, Hello Orange.

I responded: Great play or pun on the message on the tee-shirt, Hello cheese, and also on the brand name Hello Kitty.

Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours.
