Reversible Dress
This side is a diagonal print with two patterns. One is a blue background and a dusty orange and greyish white. The other pattern is a larger band of leopard skin pattern in black, charcoal, pale grey and greyish white.

I have about ten reversible dresses. I used to sit looking for reversible dresses on eBay and bid on the ones that started at 99p.

Sources of Simple Style Reversible Dresses
At first I bought the simple style like a tunic with a wide shoulder strap, from the major catalogues such as J D Williams. These are a firm weave and practical for travelling, less likely to snag or fray.

At the end of the summer season the catalogue companies reduce them. Since they are stretchy and one size, they are likely to fit you around your girth.

Smarter Dresses With Scarves
Some are sold new for quite high prices.  Usually these have a fringed scarf. Extra frills. A designer label.

I liked the ones with a matching scarf. Much more elegant.  The matching scarf is one sided so it really suits only one side of the reversible dress.

The only thing which might inhibit you from wearing the dress - it is too short or too long. I opted for maxi length so too long was more likely.  I like to cut the hem so that I get a material to make a matching scarf or belt or headband.

Being chiffon, the fabric would fray if cut. So your alternative is to alter the length by turning up the hem. When the hems are not straight, they are hard to turn up.

The Reversible Jacket
The reversible jacket is black velvet on the side I am wearing with this side of the dress. The Jacket is in Chinese style with fabric knots to go through the buttonholes down the front.

The Leopard Spot Hairband
I don't like leopard spots. However, I had to buy this leopard skin pattern hairband. It is the finishing touch.

Brand Label
The dress has no brand label.  Sometimes the brand labels are suspended at the back of the neck from two vertical twisted threads like a teeny banner. The label can be hung either side by moving the threads. Just flip the label over the horizontal neck seam.

Washing Label
The dress washing label hidden on the inside vertical seam says that it is 100% polyester. In the hand, the fabric feels rather rough. However, after I start wearing the dress, I never notice.

The washing label is quite hard to find. It tells you: Hand wash separately in cold water. Do not tumble dry (square around a circle with an x on top), nor dry clean (circle with an x on top), nor bleach (x over a triangular bottle). Cool iron for delicates, or low heat, shown by an iron symbol with one dot.

Reversible Clothes

Reversible clothes include dresses, skirts, sarees or Indian outfits, dresses with matching jackets, bikinis, bikini tops with or without bikini bottoms in one of the colours, suit jackets, ponchos, hooded jackets, bucket shape hats, scarves, children's dresses.

Uses for reversible clothes

1 Reverse the garment on holiday if one side gets stained.

2 Reverse to halve your packing time and weight. (And reduce the number of matching shoes you need.)

3 If you order and don't like the pattern or colour of one side, you might still like the other side.

4 If you get tired of wearing the same outfit, you can wear one side a little or a lot, then change to the other pattern.

5 You can take two photos, one of each side, and give two organizations or meetings or posts a different photo.

Sandals

The red sandals look right with a red belt and bag but without them in this picture red looks too bright and overwhelms the blue, so I have worn cream colour sandals in the next picture. The red sandals are Free-step, size 5 EEE. Cat no JW 791.

I think JW is J D Williams. The uppers are leather. Lining and socks textile and other materials. The outer sole is other materials. On the sole is a blue lozenge with the words Free-step by Grosby.

A photo of the other side of the dress is in the next post, dress 424.

The Jacket

The jacket is Chinese. Probably bought from J D Williams. Not sold as reversible. But the lining is sewn in neatly. The lining looks like turquoise satin.  You can usually see several Chinese jackets in Mustafa's department store in Little India in Singapore. I buy size 3 XXX if it is available so that the jacket goes over undergarments with bulky sleeves because I buy a lot of items with batwing sleeves because I order online and Chinese clothes and apparent sizes come up small.

The Black Fabric Rose On A Choker

The black fabric rose on the choker co-ordinates with the black jacket. The rose not on a ribbon but a piece of black elastic. I think it was designed as a hairband. However, the hairband works equally well as a choker.
