 I bought a pink orchid necklace online from eBay. I thought it would be like other orchid necklaces and brooches from Singapore

However, it was much smaller. Yes, I was initially disappointed.

In terms of value, it was probably worth the price, but it was not the bargain I had imagined. The reason that other orchid brooches were dearer was that they were larger.

However, if what I wanted  was some kind of pink pendant necklace to go with pink clothes, I had achieved my objective.

The moral for you is this:

When buying online, check the size  a of the object. If it is not stated, write and task the seller. 

When selling, you should show the size. Various ways are used, to show the item against your fingertips, to show the item against a coin, to show the item against a ruler, ideally one marked in both centimetres and inches.

Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours. Advantages and Disadvantages of Red and White Stripes I like red. It's fun. White can show dirt quickly.  Red and white is a bit restrictive.
