Posture support update on day three of wearing it 784

 wore the posture support over a delicate silk Patra short sleeved vest. I thought it was a mistake at the time. But the picture of the posture support showed it over white tee shirts on both men and women.

Maybe they did not want the woman to look naked. Nor to show a distracting bra which is not included in the package.

I decided it was best to wear the support on top of another garment, instead of against my skin, because I did not know how to wash it. It was thick and might not dry easily.

 When I took off my precious, perfect colour, silk garment, it had several tiny holes centre back. What had caused them? Why were the holes all grouped all together?

Could they be moth holes from the previous evening, which I had not noticed when I put the garment on in the morning?

I decided that the rubbing of the central vertical of the posture support had rubbed at  my silk vest. Would wearing the support underneath also rub? Probably not as much, because the support had to be pulled tight, but the shirt could be worn loose.

The supports which you can buy online for women, which are like  tight elastic can be washed by hand. I shall remember to wear the heavy support only at home at my desk with clothes in colours which I don't like. I can wear a jolly jacket if I go outside shopping.

I had worn the support twice, indoors on day one, then outdoors on day two. I remembered it intermittently, but not enough to make me jump up and undress and take it off. The holes came after wearing the support outdoors on day two, a day when I was walking all afternoon. 

On day three I stopped wearing the support. However, I remembered to sit upright - because of the support's reminder. Also, to justify leaving it off, in order to protect my silk vest.

The lesson for me and you is -  wear a thick fabric, inexpensive, easily replaceable garment such as a plain white tee shirt under the support.

PS I just inspected the instruction book and you can hand wash the item at 30 degrees C.

Stripey Red & White Socks, thigh high, and tights - outfit 679 by Angela Lansbury

  I bought a pair of knee high red and white stripe socks in St Luke's charity shop. At one pound or under, you can't lose much. (Their charity fundraising shops are in NW London in Hatch End, Harrow Weald and elsewhere.) Why did I buy the long socks, in hard to match, garish, childish, stripes - after hesitation and consideration? The Advantages Of Long Socks The  length was attractive, at this time of year. I often need long socks under a midi skirt. For warmth in winter. And not to show bit of bare legs above socks. To co-ordinate colours.
